Great American Beer Festival Silver Medal Winner. This American Pale Ale has outstanding hop character due to the three varieties of hops used to dry hop it at the end of fermentation. lt has a deep rich color and good malt character for balance.

Pour on tap at the brewery, clear yellow-orange pour with white head, aroma brought notes of biscuit, grain, orange and pine into a bit of grassy note with a touch of caramel. Taste was a mix of grass, grain, some orange into some pine, slight caramel, finishing fairly bitter. A bit light, but pretty decent.

12oz bottle pours with a clear gold body that supports a booming billowing off white head. Uh oh. Not a good start to this rate. The aroma offers up lemon and lime tartness as well as sweeter citrus and malty notes. It doesnít taste as messed up as it looks. I get bitter grapefruit and lemon citrus flowing quickly into malt sweetened tangelo. Amid the bitter citrus it gets a tad juicy even just as the pale ale almost biscuit maltiness bubbles to the surface. This is pretty nice even in poor shape as this is.

Served in bottle. Nose with a lot of citrus, taste a hoppy with flowery notes. Surprised by the fruity flavour. Long bitter finish. Very IPA like. Average carbonation, medium body.

Location: Draft at the Brewpub, 3/3/14, as Docís Pale Ale

Aroma: The aroma is mild but solid, some citrus, pine, and floral hop notes
Appearance: The pour is a clear orange-gold color with a small head and good lace
Flavor: The taste is much the same, light sweet, with a clean medium hop bitterness
Palate: The body is medium, leaning light, clean and drinkable, with a nice, dry finish
Overall Impression: This is a solid, enjoyable, balanced example of the style. Not a standout, just a nice beer. Certainly worth trying.

Bottle from AJís Fine Foods Scottsdale. Pours golden with a very thin white head. not much on the nose. kind of grassy sweet on the tongue. Not getting much bitterness or interesting hop flavor. Itís kind of flaccid and limp.

On tap @ brewery in Sedona. Pours very clear golden yellowish amber with decent white head. Aroma is grapefruit, orange zest, sweet malts, earthy herbs and hops. Taste is sweet malt, hops, citrus and floral notes. Medium thin bodied brew with plenty of carbonation. Not great.

Blt pours clear light amber color with some small particles. Thick off white head that lingers. Lots if lacing. Smells of candy, pine and citrus. Tastes of sweet caramel but not to sweet and bitter citrus hops Medium body with a creamy mouthfeel, lively carbonation and dry finish. Well balanced beer with a clean smooth taste. I feel this is oak creeks best beer i have had yet.
