All aboard for a very dark and full bodied ale with its rich flavor coming from the caramel and dark roasted malts used to brew it. This traditional English ale exhibits coffee-like taste notes combined with definite hop bitterness and full malty flavor. Great with steaks, chops and ribs!

Pour on tap at the brewery, slightly hazy dark reddish black pour with tan head, aroma brought notes of roast, water, grain, some slight cocoa but pretty mild. Taste was a mix of grain, coffee, dark chocolate, hints of slight watery grain into a bit of yeast, finishing dry.

Location: Draft at the Brewpub, 3/3/14

Aroma: The nose is roasted malts with a bit of coffee and chocolate
Appearance: It pours a brown color with fairly thick light brown head on it
Flavor: The taste is much the same, pretty much just a roasted malt flavor profile
Palate: The body is medium, it has a somewhat thin feel, a soft carbonation, a dry, roasty finish
Overall Impression: Again, this was another Oak Creek beer that was just fun but nothing exciting. It has a solid roasted malt flavor. No major flaws or anything to call out. Just another decent beer.

On tap at the brewpub. A clear dark reddish brown beer with a dense, beige head that lasts. Roasted aroma with coffee, some charcoal and dark chocolate. Medium body, really smooth on the palate. Dark chocolate, coffee and roasted malts in the flavor. Some bitterness towards the roasted finish. Thin on the palate, else it’s a very fine porter. 130818

Another solid beer from Oak Creek. Some chocolate notes in the aroma, very opaque. A good beer. Some faint coffee, any more and I’d hate it. This is smooth at the end and not sweet. Good stuff.

On tap at the Brewery & Grill in Sedona. Crystal clear, deep, dark amber color with a creamy beige head of moderate size and exceptional duration. Leaves plenty of lacing. Aroma: some sweet malts with a good dose of dark malts and a hint of dark chocolate. Flavor: Mainly dark roasted malts, in ample quantity. Just a trace of burnt flavor. Nice medium-full body; well-chosen medium-light in carbonation; very smooth; semi-dry finish. O: very good; recommended.

Tap at the brewpub and probablybthe best u get as part of seven dwarves sampler. Pours black with nice head. Nose of cocoa and soda. Tastes of chocolate, coffee, cola, earth, malt, resin, and vanilla. It’s a touch thin but well carbonated and quite drinkable.
