12oz bottle. Pours deep red with a frothy white head. Aroma is of caramel, grassy hops, sugar, oak, and wood. Taste is of grassy hops , caramel, malt, dark fruit, a little smokiness, and oak. Lingering woodiness and hops. The alcohol is present, but isn’t a problem. Lots of sugar to it as well. Moutheel is medium and lightly carbonated. Finish is very hoppy with a slight alcohol burn. I was slightly dissapointed by this beer, anticipating it to be way hoppier than it was. Although the oak was a nice compliment to it.

The oak takes the edge off the hops to produce a more balanced ale of excellent quality. This was my favorite beer from Stone brewing until I tried their Levitation Ale.

12oz bottle. Pours a clear, darker red-orange body with a finger-width, brown head that dissipates slowly and leaves lots of nice lacing. Lots of dense earthy hops with a lot more wood and leafy aromas. More noticable sweet caramels and a light oakiness. Heavy, over ripe grapefruits. Flavor is similar with sweeter caramels and toffees than the original Arrogant Bastard. Lots of leafy and earthy, herbal hops. Still very dense with a dry, woody finish. Lots of grapefruit and deep, aggressive lingering hops. Complex assortment of fruits with some melons, berries, and oranges too. Palate is medium bodied with a soft carbonation. Overall, not as big a fan of this as the regular bastard, but still damn good. Not as aggressive, but still very intense. I don’t think I’ve come across a lot of beers with as heavy and deep a hop flavor as the bastard series.

Mild floral and bread aroma, with touch of oak. Pours a dark amber with tan head, fading quickly. Pretty light bodied, bitter with sweet nut and citruis. Clean finish with only a light bitterness.

Very nice pour, dark brown and the aroma is very nice, malts and complex fruit. The taste was very nice, fruity and complex, but left me wanting a little bit more.

Wonderful, aromatic hops released the moment I opened the bottle. The beer is dark, reddish brown with a one inch tan head and a ton of lace tracing the glass in circular lines. The aroma is full of dark fruit, especially cherry and plum, cinnamon, distant smoke, pine, a whole assortment of summer fruits too, melon, grapefruit. The mix between dark and tropical fruits is very interesting. Mouthfeel is medium, oily. I taste lots more dark fruit with a solid hop bitterness up front, then some wood, oak, caramel, leafy green hops with more bitterness pretty much throughout the beer. The oily, full mouthfeel is really present. Hop bitterness lingers long after sipping.

(bottle). Pours a cloudy, dark copper color. Medium size tan head. Average malt and hop aroma with wood. Slick texture. Avg duration. Moderate carbonation. Light astringent finish, with light bitterness.
