Apr 8, 2009 Ruby body with a one finger beige head. Aroma of hops, caramels. The taste was a good mix of hops, sweet caramel, yeast, earth and dirt.

Apr 7, 2009 A slightly more mellow and not so harsh version of the arrogant bastard. Still bitter but the oakiness makes it easier to take. Quite tasty!

Apr 6, 2009 12 fl oz bottle bought via Beers of Europe. Dark amber/red beer with little aroma and a thin lacy head that soon disappeared. Some oak on the tongue but mainly bags of bitterness with hops in the background, giving the beer great balance and taste. A complex & satisfying ale well worth seeking out.

Apr 6, 2009 Really like this well rounded and more complex version of the Arrogant Bastard. Nice liqour like aroma with vanilla and dry fruit alongside a smooth body and a flavourfull complex and oaky finish.

Apr 5, 2009 I tried non-oaked before this version of the AB. Hoppiness is still definitely present, but the oak adds a creamy flavor and texture that mellows out the hops. Adds some dark color and lots of complexity. Great brew, not hesitate to buy it again!

Apr 3, 2009 This was really good. Very comparable to regular AB, but the oak really smoothed out bitterness from the hops. Poured with a very creamy head, cloudy amber in appearance. Fruit, hops and oak throughout. Very easy drinking.

Apr 3, 2009 My 100th beer. Wanted something a bit more flashy, but this will do. Aroma full of hops and perhaps a fruit presence, like cherry. Nearly opaque, but deep amber pour with a nice creamy head. Flavor, of course, very hoppy, with some sweet fruit such as cherry and even some apple\grape undertones. Palate was pretty smooth, considering the hops. Good stuff.
