Deep bronze appearance. Nice strong head. Fruity spicy complex aroma. Strong bitter fruity spicy taste very complex. Smooth mouthfeel but could be maybe a little better. Overall not as Oakey as I thought it could be. A pretty solid beer if you're in the mood for this style. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Dark Red/Brown Ale that starts with a strong hoppy note. The implied oak flavour is fairly mild and does not present itself up front.

12oz bottle poured into nonic. This beer is a slightly hazy dark red-brown with a half finger of tan head. Lacing sticks to the glass in dots with each swirl and as the drink is consumed. Oaked AB smells a lot like the base beer: caramel, citrus, malt, and floral hop. Distinct vanilla and wood notes are present in this version, though. The taste is contrasting sweet/bitter flavors of caramel, grapefruit rind, malt, orange pith, and floral hops. The oak and vanilla rise mid-sip and arrest the hop bitterness somewhat. Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation, long bitter finish with a woody drying character.

At first it doesn't seem like the oakiness comes out too strong, but it has a nice pine finish. Nice bright, malty flavor. Hides the 7.2% well. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Another cracker from Stone. Dark reddish/copper pour with a dirty white head. Lots of lace. Very earthy, malty, hoppy. You definitely get the oak, some pine, some citrus and candy. It’s a well balanced, delicious beer.

Ins Glas ergießt sich ein dunkelrötlich-braunes Bier mit schöner stabilen Schaumkrone. Geruch malzig süß, fruchtig herb. Geschmack würzig malzig mit stark bitterem Abgang. Leichtt holzig, interssant!

Bottle. Atoma is rather strong with pine and citrus. Taste is strong from the start. Pine, citrus, some malt and wood. Bitter long aftertaste with grapefruit. Alcohol is well hidden. A very hoppy beer with a nice body. Finish might be a bit over the top.

Reviewed from notes. She pours a hazy brown body that gives a one finger white head and dies within twenty seconds. No carbonation to be seen rising. Some ringy lacing appears. The smell has some wonderful amounts of oak but not overbearing and has some hops appear. The is well balanced between the oak and the hops and malts done extremely well. On the palate, she sits about a light to medium. There was no carbonation felt. She was fairly sessionable. Overall, well, I thought the "arrogant bastard" was just an ok beer, but this is way better. Everything is perfectly balanced. Personally, I think the "oaked" version of this makes the regular "arrogant bastard" look like a kindergartener.

You will get more hop aroma than oak at the start. Nice light oak notes when drinking, but definitely not as heavily oaked as the name implies. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Earthy hops and dirty malt, not particularly wooden. Deep copper color, spastic carbonation, tan film cap, lasting lace. Mellowed out bitter, nice malt compliment and more evidence of oak in the flavor. Mellow body as well, heavy enough to gut punch without practicing scorched earth. This bastard has been toned down by having a mighty tree topple upon him.
