Dark amber body. Aroma is heavy on caramel, also noticeable woody character. Flavor is watery bitter, with some caramel. Palate is also quite watery.

Poured from 12oz bottle a dark amber with large beige head. Aromas of caramel, floral hops citrus and vanilla oak. Flavor is big malt, caramel and vanilla followed with a big dose of gratefruit, pine, woody oak ending in a warming bit of alcohol. I poured this beer ten minutes after taking out of refrigerator and it was a great blend of oak-hoppy-caramel goodness. Poured into tulip chalice it warmed further on a hot day and the oak vanilla took over. I loved this beer at first but it was harder to drink the warmer it got. I would get this beer again but maintain a cooler temp while drinking to keep all the goodness together.

(USA) Beer courtesy of the Capt, There is a amber color with a dissipating white head. The aroma is for citrus and caramel with a grapefruit / clove taste. I don’t think there is much difference between this one and the other Arrogant Bastard.

This is such a great flavor addition to the perfection that is Arrogant Bastard. Unfortunately, it’s a bit difficult to find anymore, despite the fact that I’m merely 10 miles from the brewery.

bottle thanks to mar. Pours dark amber, minimal head that dissipates quickly. Nice hoppy aroma with some citrus. Have to concentrate, but I can smell a bit of oakiness as well. More oakiness in the flavor.. nice woody aftertaste compared to the regular AB, but combined with the dryness of the hops, the woodiness lingers a bit too long. Still a good, complex beer.

Pours a beautiful dark ruby amber with a thick, foamy tan head. Aroma is bittersweet and citrus-hoppy, like its unoaked brother, but with a hint of wood. The flavor is huge on both malts and hops, with the wood really coming through in the aftertaste - it’s more refined than normal AB. Mellower, showing less of the sharp grapefruit hop notes and more of a balanced complexity. Great!

12oz bottle. Hazy brown with a ruddy tint; creamy beige head. Woody and caramel aroma with citric hops trying to break through the mix. The flavor is big and brown-sugar sweet with a big oaky flavor and strong citric bitterness. Too much oaky flavor for me. The roughness of the hops got mellowed from the regular version, but the wood gives it a weird mash of flavors that I can only enjoy in small doses. (3.4) Rerate: Less oak, and more balance. Seems much more smooth this time, with a nice malt body and balancing bitterness. The aging still dulls the hops, but the mix is good. I’ll give this a slight nod over the regular version for now.

12 oz bottle, poured deep amber color with small off-white head. Aroma is malty and hops, with some caramel and pine/oak. Taste is hoppy, slight grapefruit, caramel, and wood. Mouthfeel is slightly creamy and very smooth, with slight carbonation. Tasty brew, not sure if the oak makes it any better than the standard Arrogant Bastard...
