4.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
12 oz bottle poured into an imperial pint glass. Pours a clear brown with a reddish hue and a one finger off white head that leaves a very nice lacing. Smells of malt, caramel, bread, and some indistinguishable hops with a light spiciness. Tastes of roasted malt, caramel, resin, light oak, spicy hop, and lemony hops. Chewy on the palate without being overly thick with a nice bitter backbone and long lingering finish. Great beer, I would highly recommend. If you donít like it perhaps "youíre not worthy" as they say.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
What a cracking beer! It pours a rich dark red amber colour with a light tan head. Taking a smell I knew that there was a lot going on here, picking up herbal, vanilla, wood and toffee on the nose. Taking a sip I was instantly reminded of Innis & Gunn (itís the only thing I could compare it to!) but of a much higher quality. There is a sweetness there but there is a bitterness from the resiny hops along with a slightly herbal vanilla taste. The finish is impressive, at first pleasingly bitter and yet there is a further burst oak and everything that went before. Well balanced and very impressive indeed! Very yummy beer!

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Poured from a bottle of a mixed 12 pack of Stone brews into a pint glass a dark amber with a beige head.
Aroma is resin with some sweetness.
Flavor is first and foremost hops then the maltiness of a strong ale hits you. Some oakiness is there but not as strong as I would have thought.
Balance of flavor is there love AB but oaked...not so much.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Old brew. Enjoy by 12/24/13, poured 2/11/14.
Appearance: Pours a red/brown sort of color with a two finger tan head that falls to one and stays. Really good lacing.
Smell: Itís definitely fallen off, I feel. Thereís a caramel sweetness that, with oak, gives a maple syrup feel, I suppose. Spicy with a fair amount of hops, but the aromaís certainly not as impressive as it would be fresh.
Taste/feel: Solid sweetness at first, but then an equally solid and drying bitterness at the end. A nice caramel malt flavor on the front, a resinous bitter pine sort of finish with a bit of that oak -- just enough to add a bit of character. The mouthfeel is medium all-around and it makes the bitterness on the finish a bit harsh, so come prepared! Itís not overbearing, but the bitterness seems a bit high for the amount of hops Iím tasting here, but again, itís past its prime.
Overall, I need to try this fresh, as I know this isnít what this brew is supposed to be. $3.29 for a single of this, and it should have been discounted.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: APR 16, 2014 Dark brown-red with big foamy tan head. Fresh hops on the nose. Taste - resinous hops with a rich malt. Iím usually not big on Oaked beers but I think this complements AB well. The oak isnít subtle but not overpowering either. Very nice. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
An old standby that we used to not see often enough. Bottle- pours clear mahogany, milky, khaki head that persists with nice lacing. Nose of spices, oak chips, honey, herbal hops and some bread. Rich, milky mouthfeel. On the tongue, peat, oak, spices, caramel malt sweetness, vanilla and then the standby Stone long bitter finish. American strong ale with a kick. Love this stuff

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
2014 bottle to a tulip glass. Pours a clear, bright amber/crimson color with a big, frothy off-white head and good sticky lacing. Aroma is pleasant gingerbread-like spiciness with sweet malt and a nice earthiness. Taste is roasted malt with the gingerbread spice, sweet plum, caramel, vanilla, oak. Has a fairly intense grassy, floral bitterness at the end accompanied by some alcohol taste. Had a nice rounded medium mouthfeel that is dry and somewhat astringent at the end.
