Arrogant Bastard. Oak. I now pronounce you man and wife. I love oak beers (only when done well) and I love Arrogant Bastard (who doesnít) and the two blend so well. I never doubted what Stone could do with oak though. Mitch Steele is God. Smells of Arrogant Bastard. Hints of chocolate, toffee and Pacific Northwest hops. Oak flavor really kicks in the end of the taste. Until then itís all Arrogance. The oak is not overdone here, but it is definitely not subtle. And until now, Iíve never used Stone and any morpheme of "subtle" in the same sentence. Just doesnít happen. I digress (yet again). But this beer is fantastic. Canít get any Stone where I live so glad to drink it when I can.

Having a Stone Oaked Arrogant Bastard after Double Bastard, again enjoying it more than I thought. Has a more moderate alcohol than the powerful Double. The hops are less marlelade-y (which I loved) and more piney and grapefruit-pithy, a touch leafy. The oak wood intertwines beautifully, a real balancing act and overall more delicate than expected. Stone Box rocks! This brewer really doesnít make gimmick beers.

Smells of sweet malts and huge scent of the oak wood with a hint of raisen. A beautiful redish brown color with small off white head. Heaps of malt Flavor ceasing the palate then tons of bitter hops coming out. Finishing off nicely with a touch of booze and brown sugar, choppy bitter ending but very complex and enjoable. Full body brew with Juicey carbonation. Great tasting brew love all the back and forth with the sweet and bitterness. Nice work!

Bottle at Ran and Daleís. Thanks Melody! 2013 bottle. Subtle oak and smoke, a little red fruit. Woodsy and bitter and a little dry. Dry mouthfeel and full-bodied - a little bit oxidized but good nonetheless.

Bottle, 660ml. A clear dark reddish beer with some sediments and a small foamy head. Deep oaked aroma of malt, spices, alcohol and firewood. Taste is bitter with a strong malt finish. Robust bodied with some carbonation and astrigency. Rich aftertaste of malt and spices with an alcoholic finish. A proper American Strong Ale.

Bottle, 660ml. Deep reddish with heavy sediment and a lively, frothy brown head. Rich roasted caramel and fruity aromas. Medium to robust bodied with moderate carbonation. Sweet malt character with a stinging dry hoppy bitterness. Absolutely delicious, this is how beer should be.

Pours with almost no head. Dark Amber color. Tastes of rich malts. There is lots of herbal flavor in there. Lots of resin from the hops on the back end. Just a tad of oak that I can detect. Not bad but Iím my opinion just a slight upgrade from the base.

Pours a dark brown color with nice lacing and has excellent head retention. Smells oaky and of bourbon. Tastes malty and of alcohol. Definite bourbon coming through. A real solid beer.

650ml bottle. Pours a clear, orange brown with a huge, creamy, long lasting, beige head that laces nicely. Strong hoppy aroma of grapefruit, oak, caramel malt, fruit and pine needles. Sweet malty flavour of caramel, oak, grapefruit, dried fruit and pine needles with a dry, bitter, hoppy finish. Medium body with an oily texture and soft carbonation. Nicely done.

Pours a dark amber-brown. Has a strong malty and oak aroma. Taste is a mix of hops, malts, and smokey oak. Have a very dry and lingering malt aftertaste with hints of bitter hops.
