Arrogant Bastard. Oak. I now pronounce you man and wife. I love oak beers (only when done well) and I love Arrogant Bastard (who doesn’t) and the two blend so well. I never doubted what Stone could do with oak though. Mitch Steele is God. Smells of Arrogant Bastard. Hints of chocolate, toffee and Pacific Northwest hops. Oak flavor really kicks in the end of the taste. Until then it’s all Arrogance. The oak is not overdone here, but it is definitely not subtle. And until now, I’ve never used Stone and any morpheme of "subtle" in the same sentence. Just doesn’t happen. I digress (yet again). But this beer is fantastic. Can’t get any Stone where I live so glad to drink it when I can.

Poured from 12oz bottle. Good head with nice retention. Lacing was decent. Interesting flavor added by the oak barrel aging. Definitely one to try. Didn't like it as much as the standard Arrogant Bastard Ale. --you've been Dubbed.

Decent aroma, not overly strong. It has a cherry brown type of color. The head is think and clings to the glass. It has a bitter kick with the after taste combined with citrus. This is an excellent brew.

Pours a dark, opaqueish cloudy copper amber color with a long-lasting khaki/caramel head that seems to last forever. Aromas of grapefruit and grass. Mouthfeel is as smooth and pleasing as any beer I’ve had. The oak age mellows this beer remarkably. A bi of oaky vanilla is one of the flavors. Some ripe dark fruit underneath. Pretty good, for Stone.

This takes the kick your ass attitude of the Arrogant Bastard and smoothes it out a little. Extremely easy to drink and a great first step to get out of the mass marketed mentality of American beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle (12 oz). Deep copper with a medium creamy beige head and good lacing. Aroma is hoppy with strong oak notes, caramel/malt and slight smokey notes. Taste is moderately sweet with caramel/malt, strong oak, smoke, vanilla and a slight to moderate bitter finish. Medium body. Somewhat dry. Very good beer. Good balance. Oak is really present, but well integrated. Quite complex. I was quite happy to have an whole bottle to drink by myself.

Hoppy and kinda bright aroma. Black body with slightly tan head. Oaky but surprisingly nutty also. Smoother than it’s older brother. Arrogant Bastard original is awesome but I think I might like this just a little bit more. Would eat with a burger and fries.

355ml bottle from Alko Arkadia. Nice hazelnut/redbrown color with a thick, beige head. Aroma has lots of vanilla at first, caramel, hops and bread. Bitter hoppy flavor with wood, caramel and pine. Medium to full bodied. Bitter, hoppy grapefruity like finish that lingers and dries out my mouth. Nicely balanced, solid brew.

Bottle pour dark amber. Nose of malt, dank hop and faint woodiness. Taste strong bitter up front, followed by a hint of vanilla, sweet malt, then strong bitter finish.

Aroma smells like beer with citrus overtones. Appearance cloudy amber with a beige head. Taste long on cititus with a bitter after taste. Long on the palate
