Poured somewhat ruby red, very hazy forming off white foamy head. Aroma of malts, hops, vanillas, wet forrest. Flavor was smooth, full bodied ale. Notes of oak flavour, slightly alcoholic tones come through. Compared to the original AB brew, this falls short. However it is still a very good beer.

The aroma has an interesting French soft cheese component with subtle oak hints. Moslty, the oak adds a stringent component that is not really pleasant. I prefer regualar arogant bastard. If you are going to oak age use oak barrels not oak chips!

I get this @ Stone when I’m up there and usually take home a growler of it. The oak comes out in the aroma but the taste on the palate is smooth and well balanced. Yet another good stone brew (YAGSB)

Whew! While I do like this more than the original Arrogant Bastard as well as Double Bastard, I think the Oaked aspect of this is over marketed. I was really wishing for a quick hint of scotch or whiskey before the wonderful bitter beatdown came on. Still awesome though.

(USA) Beer courtesy of the Capt, There is a amber color with a dissipating white head. The aroma is for citrus and caramel with a grapefruit / clove taste. I don’t think there is much difference between this one and the other Arrogant Bastard.

2008 Bottle - Pours a beautiful amber with a small white head, flavour is caramel malt, hop flower. I get very little oak, I seem to remember more oak in previous bottles, subtle vanilla, slight slight oak, delicious strong ale regardless, good alcolhol, I got a few cellared for down the road....

Pours a deep amber with a dense one-finger off-white head that dissipated fairly quickly leaving a slight swirl of foam on the top and minimal lacing. Smell is a balance sweet caramel malts and raisins along with a strong citrus hop smell featuring grapefruits. There is a faint oak smell but certainly nothing overpowering. Taste is a balance between the citrus hops and caramel malts. There is plenty of vanilla sweetness but the taste is much more hoppy than the smell and the finish is slightly bitter and crisp. Mouthfeel is light to medium for the style with moderate carbonation. This is a very good beer and I get the subtle differences between the original, but it’s not my favorite representation of the style.

Has a fresh hop aroma with citrus notes & a hint of butterscotch. Pours with a clear dark brown/reddish color & a respectable light brown head. Mild oak notes over a complex hop flavor. Fairly pronounced hop aftertaste.
