Whew! While I do like this more than the original Arrogant Bastard as well as Double Bastard, I think the Oaked aspect of this is over marketed. I was really wishing for a quick hint of scotch or whiskey before the wonderful bitter beatdown came on. Still awesome though.

Has a fresh hop aroma with citrus notes & a hint of butterscotch. Pours with a clear dark brown/reddish color & a respectable light brown head. Mild oak notes over a complex hop flavor. Fairly pronounced hop aftertaste.

Thanks, bro! Pours a ruby color with lots of particulate and a medium whispy off-white head that leaves lots of lacing. Aroma is piney hops, caramel malts, and oak chip juice. Taste is...um...a malt-driven IPA that has been brewed in mulch you’d buy from your local nursery. Not horrible, but nothing worthy of the 97 percentile.

[Bottle] Pours red with a big yellowish-tan head that lingers for quite some time. Aroma is largely barley and oak, with a light hoppiness after swirling the glass, and faint sweet scents present throughout. Hops are much more pronounced in the taste. Proceding the hops are barley (quite nice), and then hoppy bitterness again. I really liked the barley and the hops blended in with it fairly well. Medium-thin mouthfeel, smooth and with a fairly long finish. While certainly an improvement from the regular Arrogant Bastard, this is still nothing too special imo. Instead, it is a pretty simple (albeit quite well crafted) beer that really blends in with the crowd, so to speak.

12 fl oz bottle bought via Beers of Europe. Dark amber/red beer with little aroma and a thin lacy head that soon disappeared. Some oak on the tongue but mainly bags of bitterness with hops in the background, giving the beer great balance and taste. A complex & satisfying ale well worth seeking out.

Bottle. Takes the edge of the usual bastard without adding any depth. Oaking a bastard really isnít a good idea.

Pours a dark amber copper with medium white head, very little lacing. Aroma obvious of hops and oak. Flavor is more mild than AB, but just doesnít give any extra complexity to the brew, quite disappointing. Not a bad brew anyway, just not better than AB.

Dark, rusty brown pour. Light, creamy head. Soft, dark fruit. Hoppy with a rounded oak finish. Subtle, but tasty. Not sure itís quite worth the money or the hype, but itís good.

12oz bottle. Pours deep red with a frothy white head. Aroma is of caramel, grassy hops, sugar, oak, and wood. Taste is of grassy hops , caramel, malt, dark fruit, a little smokiness, and oak. Lingering woodiness and hops. The alcohol is present, but isnít a problem. Lots of sugar to it as well. Moutheel is medium and lightly carbonated. Finish is very hoppy with a slight alcohol burn. I was slightly dissapointed by this beer, anticipating it to be way hoppier than it was. Although the oak was a nice compliment to it.

Oak not overpowering, which is good, but I wasnít blown away. With all the hype, I guess I was expecting more out of this beer.
