UPDATED: APR 25, 2007 Re-Rate. Pours dark brown/amber with a nice creamy tan head. Woody, vanilla, caramel, citrus, a hint of light coffee grounds, and dark fruit aromas. Flavor follows follows the aroma almost perfectly, but with a nice semi-sweet creamy undertone. Palate is creamy, woody, a little fruity, and has some nice easy bitterness. Complex, flavorful, and definitely worth trying.

This is the best beer I have ever had. I really like the regular Arrogant Bastard. This is smoother and more drinkable. The flavor is really fantastic!

As close to a perfect beer as you can get. Complexity that takes the awesome Arrogant Bastard and adds hints of vanilla to the already nice balance of malt and hops.

How do you round out the bitter bite of the Arrogant Bastard Ale? Oak age it- Outstanding. An absolute pleasure to drink.

Oak matches hops perfectly. Great body for a dry beer. Sweet but not cloyingly, balanced bitterness. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a very dark amber with a hazy appearance and a yellowish head that leaves lovely lacing along the glass. Strong malty, caramel presence in the nose, a bit of the citrusy hops as well. The flavor is all malt up front, sweet and strong, almost overwhelming the tongue until the also formidable hops rush in and finish off the ale with a powerful resiny, oaky finish. Despite its incredible potency, the beer is almost perfectly balanced and leaves the drinker wanting more. Possibly my favorite beer.

Keg @ Exmouth Arms 2013/3/6. Such a great beer and a real surprise and treat to find it on draught. Credit to Barworks for making that happen.

This poured a deep amber with a robust 3+ finger off white head and a nice amount of carbonation coming up. The foam is leaving a nice lacing all the way down my glass. The nose is big and wonderful, woody, citrusy and a bit of spice. Very hoppy beer with nice pine and grapefruit notes. The mouthfeel is robust and creamy. This is a delicious beer

I had this brought up for me from Arizona. I was pumped to give this one a shot. Pours a slightly hazy dark amber with a frothy tan head. Hops were grassy smelling with a hint of citrus. Excellent hoppy ale taste with a nice smoked woody finish. Very crisp palate. I thought this was a great beer but I liked the original bastard more.
