12oz bottle poured in frozen mug. Dark mahogany in color with a dark eggshell, khaki head. Head was thick and light. Aroma oak, hops, and fruit. Very malty, pine, walnut, slight vanilla, grapefruit. Leaves you with a sweetness, slight alcohol warming and lasting prominent but not overpowering bitterness. Dry finish. Highly recommended.

Oaked arrogant bastard gets 5 stars from the beer drinkers union. We recently had a fresh taste of it by visiting Stone Brewery in Escondido. Had a great time with exceptional brews. The great oak hoppy flavor of this beer is exceptional and very smooth.

Pours a deep dark ruby red body, little to no head. A malty and wood like aroma. Upfront bitter fruit taste, lovely caramel middle taste, bitter hoppy aftertaste. This is an amazing beer from an amazing brewery; lovely aroma and a well developed taste!

A: from the start you can smell citrus fruit mellowed in sweet caramel malt. A: deep amber color with off white head that slowly disappears. T: great caramel malt to with a nice crisp finish due to the oak barrel aging.

Pours a dark reddish amber with a foamy head. A lot of lacing on the glass. Aroma is fresh with malty caramel nuttiness. The taste is very bitter up front and the finish is dry. This brew is fantastic. I love how the bottle is printed on directly. That’s arrogant!

Arrogant Bastard. Oak. I now pronounce you man and wife. I love oak beers (only when done well) and I love Arrogant Bastard (who doesn’t) and the two blend so well. I never doubted what Stone could do with oak though. Mitch Steele is God. Smells of Arrogant Bastard. Hints of chocolate, toffee and Pacific Northwest hops. Oak flavor really kicks in the end of the taste. Until then it’s all Arrogance. The oak is not overdone here, but it is definitely not subtle. And until now, I’ve never used Stone and any morpheme of "subtle" in the same sentence. Just doesn’t happen. I digress (yet again). But this beer is fantastic. Can’t get any Stone where I live so glad to drink it when I can.

12 oz bottle poured into an imperial pint glass. Pours a clear brown with a reddish hue and a one finger off white head that leaves a very nice lacing. Smells of malt, caramel, bread, and some indistinguishable hops with a light spiciness. Tastes of roasted malt, caramel, resin, light oak, spicy hop, and lemony hops. Chewy on the palate without being overly thick with a nice bitter backbone and long lingering finish. Great beer, I would highly recommend. If you don’t like it perhaps "you’re not worthy" as they say.

Stone’s heavy hitting flavor can be a bit over powering, but the dynamic bitter taste deserves it’s arrogance. However, that arrogance can be a bit strong after awhile. Best enjoyed in smaller doses. And clean your palate before moving on or the aged oak flavor will linger on for some beers to come.
