I tried non-oaked before this version of the AB. Hoppiness is still definitely present, but the oak adds a creamy flavor and texture that mellows out the hops. Adds some dark color and lots of complexity. Great brew, not hesitate to buy it again!

Dense, deep amber color with a thick, beige head that leaves excellent lacing. Strong "Stone" hope profile, complete with pungent-ass pines and fully loaded, resinous hop oils. Bittersweet citrus rinds and moderately sweet orange peels. Hefty bouts of toasted bread and sweet caramel from a generous malt bill mesh with the dry, woody, and boozy oak of the brew. Hoppage is more subtle and smooth than the original Arrogant Bastard. Malt and hops are 50/50 here with an additional woody-oak presence. Thick body but not too sticky. Toffee, caramel, pines, resin, and dry oak finish. Both bitter and sweet.

Bouteille achetée au Half-time (Poughkeepsie).

Final seco, amargo e duradouro. Ótima breja! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

2007 bottle. Way past the bb4 date. Murky brown pour with a tan head. Oxidized aroma - sherry, figs, cardboard and oak. Flavours of wet oak, figs, caramel, dark fruit. There’s some bitterness on the finish, which works well. Just a shadow of what this beer once was. Still enjoyable, though.

12oz bottle at Lompa. Pours deep ruby with an off-white head. Malty and hoppy aroma with wooden notes, citrus, caramel, spices and hints of dark dried. Medium sweet with a solid bitterness. Complex and well balanced. Dry finish and bitter aftertaste. Delicious brew!

Pours a dark red with a fluffy tan head. Very malty and oaky nose, maybe a bit of dark cherries, sweet, and hints of vanilla. Tons of oak on the taste as well, slightly muted citrus and floral hops, molasses, vanilla, and dark fruits. Medium body and carbonation, well balanced and a nice dry finish.
