Pours with almost no head. Dark Amber color. Tastes of rich malts. There is lots of herbal flavor in there. Lots of resin from the hops on the back end. Just a tad of oak that I can detect. Not bad but I’m my opinion just a slight upgrade from the base.

Pours a dark brown color with nice lacing and has excellent head retention. Smells oaky and of bourbon. Tastes malty and of alcohol. Definite bourbon coming through. A real solid beer.

650ml bottle. Pours a clear, orange brown with a huge, creamy, long lasting, beige head that laces nicely. Strong hoppy aroma of grapefruit, oak, caramel malt, fruit and pine needles. Sweet malty flavour of caramel, oak, grapefruit, dried fruit and pine needles with a dry, bitter, hoppy finish. Medium body with an oily texture and soft carbonation. Nicely done.

Pours a dark amber-brown. Has a strong malty and oak aroma. Taste is a mix of hops, malts, and smokey oak. Have a very dry and lingering malt aftertaste with hints of bitter hops.

From bomber, pours red with a one-finger yellow head. Aroma and taste of caramel. Taste is in-your-face bitter caramel, some citrus with a gentle sweetness. I would expect to find some vanilla notes here from the oak, but they don’t really come through - perhaps because everything else is so big. Medium mouthfeel. Bitter finish.

22oz bottle. Clear reddish copper with a foamy tan head. Flavors are toasted cereals, caramel, berries, resinous/piney hops, oak and vanilla with spicy and earthy notes. Harsh bitterness. Medium to full body, moderate carbonation, sticky texture.

UXO (1128) - CANADA - DEC 13, 2015
Appearance: clear medium amber with one finger of dense light tan head, good retention and lacing. (4/5) Aroma: caramel/toffee, pine, woody, citrus, tobacco, mild vanilla, hint of spicy rye. (9/10) Taste: moderate-high sweet, strong bitter. (8/10) Palate: medium-full body, moderate carbonation, lingering bitter finish. (4/5) Big oaky bastard with huge maltiness that is nevertheless just barely sufficient to balance the massive bitterness. Subtle, it ain’t, but man, it’s good. (17/20)

TASTE: malty, caramel, lightly woody, hop spice, brown sugar, herbs, coriander, roasty, citrus, earthy funk, smoke, vanilla, light spice, boozy and slight molasses.
