Lightly sweet caramel malt with light bitterness to finish. Smooth, lightly fruity, and sessionable. But, ultimately quite bland.

6oz taster, on tap at Twenty Tap. Clear amber orange color. Thin off-white head. Leaves decent bits of lace. Medium-plus body. Smooth, kind of soft, lighter carbonation. Light dry finish. Nice toasty malt, kind of caramel, some nuttiness. Mild bit of funky mustiness to it. Some fruitiness. Moderate sweet taste, light to moderate bitter. Eh. An ok amber. Some cooked vegetable to it.

Tap at Beer Geeks. Goldish amber pour with a frothy head. Nutty and sweet smell. Bland taste, maybe even slightly sour. Not good.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours a mostly clear dark amber-ruby with a decent sized khaki head, leaving some soapy, clingy lace. Nose involves caramel, biscuits, some toast, some pine, some earth, some raisin. Fairly sweet, somewhat bitter. Medium to full bodied, soft carb, with a medium toasty finish. A decent brew, drinkable, but it needs something. Whiskey perhaps?

2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Pours a coffee amber with a quickly fading foam head. Aroma is a caramel malt. Malty taste gives way to a toasted follow through. Sticky mouth feel with a light malt aftertaste.

I very much liked this ale. Not the smoothest ale I’ve ever had, but very nice taste. I’ll definitely go back and pick up e few more bottles.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy brown color with a moderate light tan head on it. Nose isn’t too strong - I can get a little bit of caramel and toasty maltiness to it, but little else. Taste is definitely toasty and very slightly burnt, with the maltiness coming throughout the drink.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Draft. Deep amber body. Frothy, off-white head. Aroma of husky, toasted grain with light citrus and pine. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. A mild amber ale with husky grain in the aftertaste. Unimpressive.

3.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a beautiful deep amber color with a very low small white head that fades fast. Aroma has a touch of citrus to the nose with a low Maris or Munich toasted presence. Flavor begins with a citrus hit first, then a dry, light toasted malt flavor takes over. Fairly one dimensional on the flavor but pretty good. Body is light/modest in density with almost zero carbonation and a light dryness to the finish. Overall not too bad for an amber as I typically don’t care too much for the style. No harsh grainy/metallic flavors that can be found in non-ideal brews of the style.

2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
12 oz. bottle from a trade. Color is deep, dirty crimson. Smell is Earthy, woody hops with some caramel malts. Tastes just like it smells with a secondary nutty flavor. Medium body, with mild carbonation. Has a hop bitterness that just doesn’t work with the Sweetness and wood. Not terrible just not my type of thing.
