A firkin of this was imported for the use of DEK’s American of Rocky Point, NY last night and it was very popular with a mixed beer crowd who had never tasted it. The darkly golden ale had a constant lacing that never disappeared to the end of every pint. The smooth light to medium flavors of bread and malts in the first taste were toasted valiantly by the delayed snap of citrus edged hops. Taste after taste, the even texture stayed true and reminded me of a lightly maltier version of the esteemed local Sixpoint Bengal Tiger IPA. I even arranged for an tasting of this cask alongside the great Fuller’s ESB and the differences were very strong, but delicious in every way.

Gravity at Swindon Beerex08. Poured yellow blonde. Deep, metallic, puckering, tea like hops with grassiness. Fairly one dimensional but satisfyingly bitter.

cask @ The Eagle (London - Old Street) First off, how unfair is it that THIS PLACE (essentially a wine bar now) has Sierra Nevada Pale Ale on tap and I can’t buy it in Ontario?!! Anyway. Slightly hazy light gold pour with an average creamy white head (normally a 3/5, but first pint of the day ...). Soft aroma of dried roses, slightly acidic, with a light cereal classic "golden ale" aroma. The taste follows, very soft, no alcohol presence at all, a good balance between soft light cereal malt and light floral bitterness. Soft, wheaty body, with mild floral astringency, leaves a dry finish on the tongue. Another excellent, if understated golden.

Cask at GBBF08. OK fruity aroma. Almost clear shiny yellow colour. Very nice fruitiness in the flavour, flowery and slightly sweet. Refreshing and nice.

Cask at The Fleur De Lis, Sandwich: Light grassy yellow. Very hoppy and light pale ale. Really refreshing and easy to drink. Top notch pale ale.

A lovely pale yellow beer with a nice crisp white head and a nose of sharp grapefruit and lemon turning to summery fruit in the mouth with an almost piney minty hop finish. Refreshing!
