COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask and bottle; Regular. 4.2% in cask.
The first of our single hop variety beers. We were the first brewery in the UK to use Citra. The beer proved so popular that we will be brewing it again. Permanent from January 2011.
A light refreshing beer with pungent grapefruit, lychee and gooseberry aromas leading to a dry, bitter finish.

Dorata, velata, con schiuma bianca. Agrumata al naso e al palato. Nel palato sentori di malto caramellato. Carbonatazione scarna, corpo medio, molto rinfrescante.

Aroma fantastico con nette note fruttate (frutti tropicali in psrticolare) e luppolate. In bocca é gradevolmente amara, rimane equilibrata ma con un complessità elevata vista la bassa gradazione. Ottima.

Golden colour with a small white head. Hoppy aroma with lemon and grapefruit. Flavour is also very hoppy with lots of grapefruit and lemon with some caramel malt. Bitter and dry finish. Very nice hoppy flavour.

Bottle. Intense hopy aroma with notes of grapefruit, lychee, gooseberry and light resin. Very dry taste balanced by the slightly oily hops, fruity hoppy flavour. They managed to make a flavourful, decidedly hoppy beer without overhopping it - the bitterness is strong but not overpowering. Very nice!

Pale cloudy color with little head. Fruity in nose with lychee notes. Grapefruit taste and other citrics. Easy to drink and calm thirst. Bitter taste from the beginning until finish. Very good single hop beer!

500ml bottle: BBD 12 Jun 2013. Poured into a Uk pint sleeve after working all evening at a beer festival and not drinking on 2 May 2013. Misty golden body with a thin white head. Citra by name, citrus by nature: grapefruit, lemon without the cheek sucking sourness. I don’t normally like this style of beer but this quenched my thirst nicely and it fitted the bill for what I needed at the time. Golden, citrusy flavoured beers have had some crap scores from me over the years, but this one hit the spot. Refreshing and pleasant.

Appearance: Clear golden color with a white head. Ok lacing.
Aroma: Mild grape hoppy and fruity.
Palate: Medium body. Moderate sweet and a fine bitterness. Soft carbonation.
Taste: Caramel malt, fruity and mild grape hoppy.
Overall impression: Not as fresh as the bottle version. But we got lucky. All of us ordered the same beer, and two of us got the last drop of the barrel. Their beer was cloudy golden and had thicker body off course. Also more yeast and stronger citric notes.
Personal stats: Handpull at Wellington (Black Country Inns) in Birmingham, England.
Earlier Rating: 3/13/2013 Total Score: 3.5

Appearance: Light hazy yellow color with frothy white head that last. Nice curtain lacing.
Aroma: Lovely citric hoppy.
Palate: Medium body. Moderate sweet and a rich bitterness. Average carbonation. Dry texture.
Taste: Fresh citric hoppy.
Overall impression: Very fresh and easy drinkable.
Personal stats: Bottle from Nina’s Mini Market in Edinburgh, Scotland.

Strong pale ale, the citra hop provides both a fabulous high fruity aroma and taste with obvious citric undertones. Pale yellow in colour with a small head and nicely smooth in its texture.

Bottle. The original and possibly best citra. Very pale body, good head. Remarkably fresh nose for a bottled beer. Taste is perfect for this style, lemon, grapefruit, nectarine. Fabulously thirst quenching. Almost as good as on handpull.
