The first of our single hop variety beers. We were the first brewery in the UK to use Citra. The beer proved so popular that we will be brewing it again. Permanent from January 2011.
A light refreshing beer with pungent grapefruit, lychee and gooseberry aromas leading to a dry, bitter finish.

500 ml. bottle best before 3/31/15. It pours a super clear gold color with a disappearing white head. The aroma is mildly sweet with some grapefruit, apricot and gooseberries with some noticeable dank wet grass and hints of biscuit and grainy malt. The flavor is nice with a bit of bready and biscuity malt that supports the big hop flavors of grass, passionfruit, white grape and some dank in the finish. Medium bitterness. Really tasty and well made.

pale, golden, clear, minimal head, medium bitterness, lightly sour, light body, soft carbonation, thin feel, bitter, didn’t like this as I thought it was rather lacking in taste due to the presence of only one hop citra. from waitrose for £1.97.

Cask at Sandford Park Ale House. Pours clear pale gold with a large, frothy white head, long retention with excellent lacing. Aroma is biscuit and cracker malt, earthy, dank, and herbal hops. Flavor is moderate hops and bitterness, light malt and a dry finish. Light to medium body and medium carbonation.

Bottle: Poured a super light yellow color ale with a nice pure white foamy head with good retention and some minimal lacing. Aroma of Citra hops with green hoppy notes with some lemongrass notes and some weird grainy notes which don’t really fit that well. Taste is dominated by hoppy notes with some lemongrass and grapefruit and some weird grainy malt notes that more or less fits in the whole picture. Body is light with good carbonation. Well done even though I really don’t dig the malt profile.

500 mL bottle from the LCBO, served in an English pint glass. Pours clear golden with a tall white head that remains and leaves a small amount of fine lace. The nose has big notes of grapefruit, lemongrass and gooseberry, along with honey and pale malts. The flavour is balanced between mild pale malty sweetness and a subtle citric hoppy bitterness that builds slightly towards the end. Grassy notes and perhaps lychee come through as well. The finish is moderately bitter with a slight pepperiness. On the palate it is light in body with a watery texture and soft carbonation. Overall, this is a very nice citra pale ale. In the English style, it is perfectly balanced and quite sessionable. 2014-04-22

From a 500ml bottle on 21/4/2014. Pours a clear light pale golden with a smallish head. Has a distinct, pleasant zesty, citrus aroma. In the mouth, it features grassy malt, lots of grapefruit, lemon, lemongrass, and just the barest hint of pepper. The bitterness is firm and a touch sour. Has a light body and average to lively carbonation. All up, this is a really refreshing drop, with lots of personality, while being very sessionable at just 4.6%. A very nice brew indeed.

UPDATED: OCT 14, 2014 Flaske fra Waitrose, Muswell Hill, april-14: klar lys kobberfarge med kort skum. Deilig aroma av citrus avrundet med ferskensødme, og slik smaker det også. Glir sorgløst over ganen mens kofferten pakkes for hjemreise. Good stuff! Et kjærkomment gjensyn på Mandag i annen, okt-14: minst like god soim sist! Appelsin og stikkelsbær i nese og gane. Deilig ettersmak.Opp fra 3.3 til 3.5.

Bottle 500 ml
Aroma: milder set up with singular hop qualities - lemongrass, grease, dry hay. Cant say I love it.
Apperance: poured as pale golden ale with medium plus bright white cap. Some rings on glass.
Taste/Palate etc. medium bodied with slightly thinner walls. Citrusy, grassy front with golden malts and mineral backing. Bit one sided as expected but flows well. You won’t find greatness here just well done single hopper.

Bottle - pours a clear golden ale with a smallish rocky white cap. Aroma is earthy with citra bouquet. A mild ale with thin malting but with a similar balancing hop bearing which builds slightly to a mildly bitter finish - a top notch sessioning mild ale
