Cask and bottle; Regular. 4.2% in cask.
The first of our single hop variety beers. We were the first brewery in the UK to use Citra. The beer proved so popular that we will be brewing it again. Permanent from January 2011.
A light refreshing beer with pungent grapefruit, lychee and gooseberry aromas leading to a dry, bitter finish.

On hand-pull cask at Oakha (Kennington). Clear pale gold with a solid long lasting white thick foamy plug of head. Aroma is a massively catty/grassy golden ale - taste follows, some wheat/gluten stickiness, light alcohol. Light body, mild carbonation, longish pungent catty finish so damned drinkable!

Very light pale straw gold pour with one to two fingers of very light and loose frothy white head. Raw fruit and citrus in the nose with some bready notes and diacetyl. Citrus rind and dactyl in the flavor. Spicy/zesty and goes pretty well with a lightly spicy flavor. Very light and dry.

Pale gold with small white head. Aroma of grapefruit and citrus. Taste of grapefruit and citrus, dry palate. Nice but would be better more carbonated.

Bottle @ union tavern. Clear golden color, short head. Aroma of tropical fruit, lychee, slight buttery. Soft bitter taste, but fruity, hint of caramel. Decent beer, but could have been more refreshing perhaps.

Aroma: Fresh grapefruit, cut green grass, passionfruit
Appearance: Kind of ugly; no head, slightly cloudy pale yellow
Taste: Grapefruit, slight bitterness, a bit of grass
Palate: Flat; almost no carbonation. Light body and mouthfeel. Dry finish.
Overall: Bottle had a best by 4/2014 so I can’t say it’s a function of age, but the flat mouthfeel and lack of any head hurt the score. Tasty... kind of like hop water compared to most American IPA’s, but makes it very drinkable

Bottle bb 16/07/14. Pours a clear gold colour with a foamy white head. Nice, fresh fruity aroma with lots of peach and lychee with a touch of caramel which grows. Light bodied with medium carbonation. There’s a touch of sweetness with caramel then some pine, lemon and a bit of grapefruit to finish with a very slight metallic taste. It’s nice enough.

Bottle, B&M. Lovely fresh citrus nose, grapefruit/passionfruit. Very pale straw with a bit of a haze, big bubbled frothy white head. Smooth, zesty mouthful, well hopped, good finish. Tasted at room temp, could perhaps benefit from a slight cooling, nice tho!

Best use of Citra as a single hop beer in England. Oakham found the balance that numerous brewers have not found with the citra hop. Pours a nice straw/golden color with an aroma and flavor that just get it right.

Bottle from mane liquor. Pours a clear golden yellow with a nice white head. Nose has grapefruit and lychee with mild caramel malts. Taste is much the same. Quite thin on the palate. Very light sessionable pale. Pretty decent for an easy going beer ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
