The first of our single hop variety beers. We were the first brewery in the UK to use Citra. The beer proved so popular that we will be brewing it again. Permanent from January 2011.
A light refreshing beer with pungent grapefruit, lychee and gooseberry aromas leading to a dry, bitter finish.

500mL bottle. Pours slightly cloudy straw with a small white head. The aroma is sweet citrus/mango with a hint of mercaptan indicating it has spend some time in the sun or under uv light. Very light carbonation with an upfront bitterness and the mercaptan seems to dominate in the flavour which is disapointing. I’m sure this would be a wonderful beer if it was fresh.

Very average beer. No aroma, looks like a cider but taste is average. Would not buy again.

UPDATED: APR 13, 2013 Bottle from Mane Liquor. Pours a clear blonde colour with 1cm of disappearing head and thin lacing. Upfront lychee and sweet tropical fruits, with a dash of sugary syrup. Maybe a touch of lemon skin zest. No malt notes present in the nose. Taste is a tamer version of the nose, in my opinion lacking a bit of malt. Body is quite watery, but a sweet bitter taste lingering afterwards. Was expecting something a bit more dimensional, but I do enjoy citra hops.

Quite clear, darkish yellow beer. Aroma has citrus, grape. A bit thin and carbonated, but enjoyable beer overall.

Bottle. Pours lovely and clear with a good head that quickly dissipates. Very crisp and refreshing. Lots of good zesty aroma on the nose. Good, clean bitter aftertaste. Will be back for more.

My goodness me, not really my style of beer this one, but very good none the less. Does what is says in the name, very, very citrus zingy, after an aroma of lemon, grapefruit, grass and freesias.

Dec 2012 - cold bottle. I’d heard so many rave reviews, so I was expecting something great. Very pale, with a citrus smell. Bitterness is comparatively mild, bit of wateriness about the beer, grapefruit finish with a little floralness. Unspectacular but a nice beer nonetheless. 3.6

May 2013 - Another cold bottle. Very fresh. Pours yellow, slight carbonation but not much head. Smells strongly of gooseberries and cheese. Taste is a bit strange - earthy, watery, cheese, fairly bitter, a bit metallic. Sadly, the rating’s going down. 3.2

Lots of fruit aromas with a very intense sent and palate of peaches and citrus. Lovely golden color with short lived head. Lots of floral hops and hay on the palate. Hop bitterness is moderate and short lived.
