COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask and bottle; Regular. 4.2% in cask.
The first of our single hop variety beers. We were the first brewery in the UK to use Citra. The beer proved so popular that we will be brewing it again. Permanent from January 2011.
A light refreshing beer with pungent grapefruit, lychee and gooseberry aromas leading to a dry, bitter finish.

Bottle(purchased @ Sainsbury’s, Cromwell Road):Golden with a slight greenish haze and a persistent small white head, solid dry exotic-fruity and citric nose, supported by a hayish touch; robust dry bitter flavour with a very faint malty background, lkght bodied; lingering - what else - dry ( but not bone dry) citric hoppy finish, accompanied by exotic fruits and some well hidden malt. Very, very fine stuff…

Appearance: Clear amber/golden with finger thick white head. Aroma: Gooseberry, lemon, biscuit, floral, note of caramel and marmalade. Taste: Low sweetness, medium bitterness and sourness. Palate: Grainy light texture and body, average carbonation, astringent lingering bitter finish (grapefruit and pith bitterness). Comments: Tasty and glass lace.

50cl bottle pours a hazy gold with some wispy, white head. Nose of mint, white grape, pine, grapefruit. Flavor is odd, orange, white grape, pepper, pine, mint, a little glue. Bitter finish. Odd.

Jado (623) - Camp Hill, AUSTRALIA - NOV 28, 2013
From 500 ml bottle. Pours a mostly clear yellow-gold with a small but persisting white head and light carbonation. Aromas of grapefruit, basil, orange zest, earth and white bread. Taste is very light at first, but then a big citrus - mainly grapefruit, lemon pith and bitter orange - hit of bitterness ramps up in the mid-palate. Also pick up a herbal note - mint or basil - in there somewhere and a touch of white pepper. This washes out to a sweet malty finish. Pleasant orange zest aftertaste. Really good.

500ml bottle. Pale yellow, hazy. Not a lot of head. Citra hop aroma. Taste is a nice balance of sweet fruit malt and grapefruit hops; the hops are very apparent, but it does not skew too bitter or unbalanced. Overall, an actually good English pale ale.

Otterdance (164) - Norwich, Norfolk, ENGLAND - NOV 21, 2013
UPDATED: FEB 11, 2014 Bottle. Pale yellow, slight haze with a small white head. Sweet hops on the nose. Nice punchy citrus flavour with a wet grass tang. Long bitter finish. Light body makes this very drinkable and makes a nice change from the thicker US single-hopped beers.

Bottle. Pale, clear yellow colour. Malt, grass, floral, citrus and hopps on aroma. Same continues in taste, plus grapefuit and little bit of sweetness, good balance. Light to medium bodied with good carbonation. Dry, bitter finish with grapefruit and lemon, and again hint of sweetness. Refreshing, well balanced, hoppy and easy to drink, great beer for sunny days.
