The first of our single hop variety beers. We were the first brewery in the UK to use Citra. The beer proved so popular that we will be brewing it again. Permanent from January 2011.
A light refreshing beer with pungent grapefruit, lychee and gooseberry aromas leading to a dry, bitter finish.

floral, citrus, marmalade, pale gold no real head to mention, medium sweetness with a spicy hop bitterness in the finish, with a nice flavour of lemons. medium body, thin feel, average carbonation. this is really good but i dont think its quite the great beer that people rave about.

Kind of a let down. I had high hopes for this considering the awards its won and the average rating but its just too fruity for my taste. It is distinct though. I havent had a beer with that kind of flavour and mouthfeel before.

Pours a golden colour, with a frothy white head. Aroma has huge citrus notes, and toasted malts. Tasting notes is sweet with citrus, and malts. This is an excellent American Pale Ale!

Pale golden in colour with a thin white head, good lacing. The aroma is of pineapple, lemons, some peaches. The flavour has lots of citra hop fruitiness, some malt sweetness. Hoppy mouthfeel, light body, medium carbonation. Finishes long, some sweetness, tropical. What it lacks in body it makes up for in the strong citra hop fruitiness.

500ml bottle purchased at the LCBO in Peterborough, Ontario.
Best before December 17, 2014.

500ml bottle from B&M Bargains - Very clear straw yellow body, with a quickly disappearing small head. Typical Citra grapefruit hop aroma, but not overpowering. Quite sweet on the taste at first, followed by the hop and a refreshing bitterness on the finish. Good summer drinking beer.

I am not sure what I expected of this one, given its high score. A stronger, more diverse mouthfeel? Better head retention? Less overcarbonation so as not to mask the lackluster bitterness?

Bottle from Rehills Newcastle. Full bodied pour, dark golden colour. Strongly fruity in flavour, but light enough to be easy drinking. Very enjoyable indeed
