COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask and bottle; Regular. 4.2% in cask.
The first of our single hop variety beers. We were the first brewery in the UK to use Citra. The beer proved so popular that we will be brewing it again. Permanent from January 2011.
A light refreshing beer with pungent grapefruit, lychee and gooseberry aromas leading to a dry, bitter finish.

Pale golden in colour with a thin white head, good lacing. The aroma is of pineapple, lemons, some peaches. The flavour has lots of citra hop fruitiness, some malt sweetness. Hoppy mouthfeel, light body, medium carbonation. Finishes long, some sweetness, tropical. What it lacks in body it makes up for in the strong citra hop fruitiness.

500ml bottle purchased at the LCBO in Peterborough, Ontario.
Best before December 17, 2014.

500ml bottle from B&M Bargains - Very clear straw yellow body, with a quickly disappearing small head. Typical Citra grapefruit hop aroma, but not overpowering. Quite sweet on the taste at first, followed by the hop and a refreshing bitterness on the finish. Good summer drinking beer.

I am not sure what I expected of this one, given its high score. A stronger, more diverse mouthfeel? Better head retention? Less overcarbonation so as not to mask the lackluster bitterness?

Bottle from Rehills Newcastle. Full bodied pour, dark golden colour. Strongly fruity in flavour, but light enough to be easy drinking. Very enjoyable indeed

500ML lcbo bottle. a good session ipa or low gravity apa, whatever you wanna call it. would drink a boatload if it priced to session. less malt body then i hoped but 4.2% hop juice if fine with me.

Single bottle from the LCBO with a Best before date of 17 DEC 2014. Pours a pale golden colour with a white frothy head, decent retention and some foamy lacing. Aromas of real fresh hops at first and then the characteristics of Citra come out: mild grapefruit with lots of exotic fruits. The taste is not as bitter as IPAs, but a nice dryness making it still refreshing. Again, the grapefruit is mild with the other fruits balancing things. Light grain appears in the background with the notes of bitterness lingering. This is quite a nice easy-going ale with some nicely blended hops to it. I am a fan of Citra (the beer and the hops themselves).

500ml bottle. Clear pale yellow body, small white head with poor retention. Aroma is Citra at its best: peaches, apricots, pineapple, muscat grapes, honey and camp flowers. Taste moderate resinous notes, grapefruit zest, herbal, a touch of lemon, grapes.

500 mL bottle. Pours clean straw with a light white head. Lychee on the nose, some citrus zest, bready malt, light toffee and a touch of resin. Mildly sweet and malty but balanced out to finish slightly bitter. Well rounded and painfully sessionable. Light bodied and light on carbonation too. Smooth and creamy on the palate. I was expecting an overdone session IPA style beer with one note of Citra only, but this is really enjoyable and subtle.

From the bottle. Lovely hoppy, fruity flavour without being excessive. Great Aroma, great look, great taste
