The first of our single hop variety beers. We were the first brewery in the UK to use Citra. The beer proved so popular that we will be brewing it again. Permanent from January 2011.
A light refreshing beer with pungent grapefruit, lychee and gooseberry aromas leading to a dry, bitter finish.

Bottle from B & M Bargains. Poured clear. A pale golden yellow colour with a lasting white frothy head. Bursting with fruity and floral aromas. Packs a punchy flavour from the citra hops and some sweetness comes through. Dry, bitter finish. Ace.

As an American traveling in Sussex, I have been enjoying many real ales. Stumbling upon this APA, single hopped with citra, was a surprising return to the US beer scene, at a very high level of quality. Lovely floral aroma, clean dry mouth feel and taste. First-rate. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Strong Citra Hop Aroma - as to be expected. Clear pale golden colour, looks like a lager, moderate carbonation, looks very thin but this isnt much of a problem. Powerful resinous hop notes, extremely well balanced beer with a real great alcohol flavour - the 4.9% is not hidden well and the beer is all the better for it. A fantastic little brew that is a great thirst quencher, leaves you wanting more.

bottle. Golden with one finger head. Medium body with plenty of citra hops. Low bitterness, but plenty of flavor. This does an exceptional job of showcasing the hop flavors, while still being a very mild beer.

Pours fairly clear golden with a little frothy white head. The aroma features citrus fruitiness with a noticeable grassy, herbal element, also a touch of pale maltiness in the background. Taste is dryish, light bitter. Hoppiness delivers both citrusy and grassy notes, also cereals and grain linger until the finish. Citra does not completely owerpower malts. The palate is light to medium bodied, slick. Very drinkable. Decent British take on the APA.

Quite simply the most delicious bottled beer you can buy relatively easily in the UK. Light, golden full of Citra hops. A treat in a glass. And it is so close to the Real Ale version that quite honestly I would be happy drinking it in a pub.
