The first of our single hop variety beers. We were the first brewery in the UK to use Citra. The beer proved so popular that we will be brewing it again. Permanent from January 2011.
A light refreshing beer with pungent grapefruit, lychee and gooseberry aromas leading to a dry, bitter finish.

50 cl, bottled. Pours clear golden with fine white head. Aroma: Peaches, tropical fruits. Pleasant fruity notes. Taste: Medium sweet, tropical fruits, peaches. Notes of minerals. Palate: Medium body, adequately dry. Sessionable. I like this.

Grassy, hoppy beer that’s fast becoming a supermarket standard yet still tastes like a micro. Fresh, windows-open aroma with a taste that isn’t over-hopped but still packs enough punch to appeal to craft-heads and just tame enough (just) to appeal to Stella lovers. Lovely white head, lychees, kiwi, gooseberry and limes in the mix, the sort of beer you can quaff again and again, either on tap or from the bottle. A winner, one of the UK’s most deserving beers.

Butelka 500ml . Bursztynowy kolor z biala srednia pian?. Zapach zdominowany przez cytrusy ale w glebi takze amerykanskie chmiele. W smaku cytrusowo-grejfrutowe o niezlym balansie . Srednie wysycenie. Ciekawe IPA.

From SIPS. Drank with Matt at home. Clear pale straw-orange. Fizzy creamy white head. Smells of citrus hop - orange, tangerine, faint passionfruit - and light pepper and corn malt. Taste is moderately bitter but otherwise a bit empty. Has the clean bitter nothingness of many traditional English ales. Body is medium, bitter, somewhat stony, quite smooth. Nose and body are well done, though taste is more boring. A drinkable Citra IPA though I may be grading on a boring-English-beer curve.

Bottle from SIPS at home with Steph. Clear deep golden pour with minimal head. Aroma is subtle - some citrus hops. Taste follows - some citrus but mostly just clean bitterness. Not bad, but not that special. Some lasting bitterness which is nice. Body isn't as light as expected in a good way.

Pours a dark orange color with creamy white head. Wonderful smell of hops and fruits. Light body with medium carbonation. Texture is nice and smooth. Taste of hops is just awesome and further enriched with flavours of grapefruit and herbs. This one is incredibly refreshing and smooth. Finish is bitter and dry, leaving you with fruity aftertaste and cravings for more. Overall, awesome beer. Very, very tasty. Cheers!

Hops: Citra
Colour: Yellow / Gold. Quite clear.
Head: White like snow, tiny bubbles, quite durable. Great lacing over the entire surface of the glass. Thin head ring constantly present over a beer.
Aroma: Smells like a hop bomb! Whack strong citrus odor. Very strong aroma of grapefruit, white currant, lychee and, above all, gooseberry. Neither forest notes ,nor resinous noticed.
Taste: The taste is a reflection of smell 100%. Each of the above-mentioned fruits appears, gooseberry as a dominant. Bitterness is quite long and grapefruit-like. Minimum astringent aftertaste of the grapefruit peel. Beer is perfect for a sunny day: refreshing and cooling down. Carbonarion: Moderate.
Summary :
Beer purchased at Marks & Spencer, UK for £ 2.

Pint at the Bon Accord. Very very pale, but the nose is reassuringly aromatic - fruity and sharp. Palate is super-bitter, light, refreshing.Very clean finish.

A clear bright gold colour with a small white head. Fresh floral aroma with a big citrus (grapefruit) punch. Crisp and refreshing, some sweetness, medium bitter flavour with a dry bitter finish.

Pours clear amber with low white head. Aroma of grapefruit, light pine, citrus, ripe peach, actually light gooseberry. Taste is crisp, bitter and slightly bready with a somewhat astringent bitter finish. Light, smooth body with soft carbonation.
