Cask and bottle; Regular. 4.2% in cask.
The first of our single hop variety beers. We were the first brewery in the UK to use Citra. The beer proved so popular that we will be brewing it again. Permanent from January 2011.
A light refreshing beer with pungent grapefruit, lychee and gooseberry aromas leading to a dry, bitter finish.

Cask, at the Butchers Arms, Herne. Golden pale ale, small head. Lovely Citra aroma of pink grapefruit, hint of mango. Flavour more of the same, pronounced citrus bitterness, hint of grass, string pink grapefruit flavour, bit of mango, lychee... delicious. Very refreshing, couple of pints went down very easily.

Crystal clear light yellow colour. Very small white head. Limited carbonation. Soft fruit aroma and creamy texture. Immediate bitterness which is very satisfying on the tongue with a rounded biscuity finish. Interesting english interpretation of an American ipa which lacks a little of the punch of its cousins from the USA. VERY SESSIONABLE THOUGH.

Bottle, 0.5l. Clear yellow colour with small white head that dissapears in seconds but leaves nice lacing on the glass. Citrus and hoppy aroma. Taste of citrus with strong bitter aftertaste. Average carbonation. Overall very good beer.

(50 cl bottle from Marks &/ Spencer’s Gatwick; BBD: September 2015; L14 244) Pours a nice clear golden with little white head. Decent retention and nice lace. Aroma is vaguely citrusy. Oily texture, medium carbonation, light to medium body and a crisp and bitter finish. Perhaps there are some light biscuit notes in the flavour from the malt which otherwise has a nice and very drinkable version of the Citra hop that doesn’t get too much in your face as it could in some other varieties. Nice sessionable version of a citra pale ale.

From 0,5l bottle, pours light cloudy, straw yellow liquid, small white head, Aroma: citrus, lemon grass, light grapefruit, lychee, goosberry, delicate, complex and harmonious- perfect, Taste: light to medium sweet, medium to heavy bitter, light sour, grapefruit, lemon, lychee or even coconut, Palate: light body, slick texture, soft carbonation, long bitter grapefruit finish. Overall: excellent, very drinkable, moderate alcohol (4,6%), marvelous aroma, very good taste, enjoyed, would be able to imagine paring it with some summer sponge cake with some berries from own garden, ideal for summer.

Bright and golden. Lemony citrus aroma, perhaps some resin too but in a gentle manner. Good firm bitterness, citrus and some gooseberries in the taste. Solid and excellent beer.

From bottle at Mi2 at Cardinal 13.10.14. Very pale, slightly hazy, golden. Diminishing white head. Aroma of lemon, gooseberries, tropical fruits and 7-UPs. Almost, but not quite, bordering to feline urine. Similar, but a bit waterish taste and mouthfeel.
