COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask and bottle; Regular. 4.2% in cask.
The first of our single hop variety beers. We were the first brewery in the UK to use Citra. The beer proved so popular that we will be brewing it again. Permanent from January 2011.
A light refreshing beer with pungent grapefruit, lychee and gooseberry aromas leading to a dry, bitter finish.

Bottled, 0.50l. Hazy pale golden color with small but thick white head and soft visible carbonation. Outstanding fruity hops aroma, combined with more tropical fruits, citrus and lychee. Taste starts with refreshing citrus, then followed by sweet tropical fruits and light spicy maltiness, while finish is very hoppy. Full body, slick texture and soft carbonation in palate. Unforgettable aroma...

UPDATED: MAY 29, 2011 Hand pulled at the Black Eagle, Soho, Birmingham. Clear gold, with a prim white head. Absolutely delicious beer in sensational condition. Clean, crisp, smooth, full of limey hop flavour, with supreme balance of sour, sweet, bitter and juiciness. I hurt myself by being unable to stop drinking this during the whole of Xmas Eve.

Bottle. The original and possibly best citra. Very pale body, good head. Remarkably fresh nose for a bottled beer. Taste is perfect for this style, lemon, grapefruit, nectarine. Fabulously thirst quenching. Almost as good as on handpull.

From the bottle. Light golden colour with a thin, fine head that lasts. Moderate carbonation. Light malt, a real zesty citrus punch, hops by the bucket and a long, fresh, bitter finish. A real heavy hitter in the hops department, this manages to be a very good session beer too. Perhaps my favourite beer at the moment. Love it.

Great smell and taste of citrus and maybe a hint of honey at the end of the sip. The head stays till the end. Very good thing is that you cannot taste the alcohol so it goes down easily. I expected it to be lighter in ibus so it was a nice surprise. Awesome beer.highly recommended

UPDATED: MAR 1, 2012 1)Gravity, 3rd Hinckley BF. Pale gold, loose bubbled halo. Wonderful stewed grapefruit aroma with a big squeeze of chlorophyll, resins, almost garlic. Pungent. fresh-squeezed grapefruit overlaid with softer floral and lemongrass notes; more rounded cashew maltiness and vanilla than you sometimes get with Oakham. Rich Tea and quinine linger. Lean, biting and soft. Classic festival opener. (848416=4) 2) 50 odd pints later, long since a regular part of the Oakham range, and on handpull at my wedding the magnificent Citra is long overdue a rerate that puts it where it belongs- at the top of my ratings. On form, as it always is where I drink it- The Crown in Nuneaton- an unsurpassed, narcotic, citrus and cat piss-crammed shot of hop loveliness. Bristling US hop aroma and flavour melded perfectly with thevelvet-soft, tingling condition of English cask at its best. Forget about the tick and get the Citras in.

Dunk @ Merton Winter Beer Festival 2011. This is a stunning beer full of epic citra hops; intense hops, oh lovely hops! Golden colour and excellent lacing, conditioning is stunning and a superb take on the citra hop. I really can’t complain and would love to compare this with the Kernel Citra. I love this hop and the grapefruit bounce and frutiy vibe is so flavoursome and drinkable and enjoyable. No overtly aggressive hopping but balanced; poised and stunning. Awesome blending and so so good. Top top work.

Cask, The Generous Briton, Loughborough, UK. Golden colour with nice, long lasting white head. Citrus hop aroma. Medium body, medium carbonation. Strong citrus floral hops taste, nice finish, very mooreish.
