Cask @ Sheffield Tap, Sheffield [0110916]
Dark amber, clear, white head
Aroma of tropical fruits, lots of fruits, peach, bit of apricot, diesel fumes from Pacer wafting into bar
Taste of sweet fruity malts, touch of grassy hops, some sweet caramel, honey, tropical fruits, citrus, alcohol is noticeable
Palate - Medium body, quite sweet
Overall - Fruity, malty, rather boozy though. Heavy going - 1/2 pt enough - probably better on tap

Cask handpull at The Webb Ellis Twickenham as ’Oakham Dream Catcher’, 6.9%. Very dark amber, almost brown, translucent with a sense compact tan head, leaving thick lacing. Aroma is fresh orange, grapefruit. Body is smooth with soft carbonation. Taste is sherbet, grapefruit, toffeeish malts, woody floral notes, touch of booze showing up, grassy finish. Really good.

Cask at the Admiral Benbow on the promenade overlooking the sea in Chapel St Leonard’s, Lincolnshire. Poured a clear deep amber colour with a small firm off white head. Aroma of malt, light hop, caramel and biscuit, and a touch of chocolate. Medium sweetness, light bitter. Dry mouthfeel, full bodied, slick texture, soft carbonation. A good beer!

Cask. Grapefruit rind embedded in caramel malt. Pours amber with white top and strong if broken lace wash. Taste is rich and smooth with the density of hops giving it an aged quality. Sweet foretaste with a bitter twist. Very good if hardly a typical IPA.

Cask at The Hop Inn, Newcastle-Under-Lyme. A clear amber colour with a medium off white head. Aroma of caramel, toffee apple, some spicy orange, slight dark fruits, a little pine and subtle grassy hops. Taste of caramel, toffee apple, orange zest, some dark fruits, slight resin, a little grapefruit and subtle grassy, floral hops. Full bodied but a sticky texture. A sweetish, stewed toffee apple and citrus finish. A boozy cask IPA. Full bodied, citrusy and packed full of US hops. Wasn’t sure at first though because it also contains a lot of caramel and stewed, toffee apple flavours. Decent overall.

Cask. Pivni, York. Clear, dark gold. Dense, creamy white head. Nose has sweet, sugary malts. Pungent, grassy, floral hop. Some notes of baked apple, and dried fruit. Taste is sweet, then grassy bitter. Full body. A bit sticky. Chewy, bittersweet finish. Hard work.

Cask at The George, Croydon. It pours clear amber with a bubbly beige head. The nose is fresh, juicy, fragrant, orange squash, peach, honeysuckle, lychee, pine and a touch of varnish. The taste is pretty bitter, pine, resinous, grapefruit, blood orange, tangerine, peach, perfumed, light toffee and some chewy malt backbone with a lingering dry finish. Medium body and soft carbonation. Pretty juicy stuff. Enjoyable, albeit not Oakhams best.

cask at CBC SMA, London. It pours a clean golden color with no head. Aroma is sweet toffee and vanilla with light orange peel and caramel. Taste is sweet and boozy, with toffee, alcohol fusels, vanilla. Light bodied with good carbonation. Overall, worst Oakham ever for me
