Cask at the Post Office Vaults, Birmingham. Pours dark amber with a thin head. Aroma is faint mango with a touch of apple. Taste has loads of mango with a strong mango, bitter finish. Lacks Oakhams usual finesse.

Dark toffee color. Big off-white head with rings of lacing as the beer was quaffed. Malt backbone with a huge hop aroma. Taste was slightly bitter, mostly hop flavors, and residual malt on the back. Very pleasant and would definitely seek out again. Delicious to say the least.

Cask conditioned Handpump The Pub Leicester. An amber coloured beer with white bubbles for a head. Insanely hoppy aroma for a British beer. A strong chinooky nose with follows through to the flavour. Sweetish malts give a lovely backbone balance. A good long finish with a touch of caramel late on. Really really tasty.

Cask at St Albans beer festival 2011. An amber coloured pour with a medium fluffy off white head on top. Sweet, hoppy, passion fruit aroma. Taste is similar, passion fruit, hoppy, sweet, malty, caramel. Quite rich and boozy in the US mould. Very well balanced, a really great beer from Oakham.

Cask (gravity) - The Fat Cat Brewery Tap/The Cider Shed, Norwich. Poured with a fine though mostly lasting bubbly off-white head atop a clear chestnut amber body. Juicy peach, strawberry & tangerine aromas. Some earth in amongst juicy, bitter citrus fruits & a nice malt body on the tongue. Soft mouthfeel & a lingering bitterness.

Half for breakfast@ Crown Oakham Beer Fest, Nuneaton, 09/09/11 (TEN Oakham beers on handpull). Honey amber with a firm, off white cap. Beautifully perfumed aroma of flowers, lemon zest, passion fruit and discreet green. Perfumed tropical character with mellow soft passion fruit, lemon icing and Jelly Tot notes over a robust husky base. A lick of heat and marzipan on the finish. Top stuff- bring on The Baron..

Excellent Ale. First flavorful beer I’ve found in England in a LONG while.

Hand pulled at the Swan and Rushes, Leicester. Brown/purple colour. Smells great, sweet, thick, heavy hops. Beautifully smooth, with lightly sweet hops and a big boozy finish. A real IPA this one, along the lines of a Mikkeller One Hop. Rich, full. Great stuff.

UPDATED: SEP 12, 2011 Gravity cask at the Peterborough BF 2011. Amber/red with a lively off white head. Initially sweet but a strong multi layered, resinous hop storm quickly sends the taste buds into chaos and the end result is a pint that disappears far too easily for sensible drinking purposes at a beer festival. Another winner from Oakham.
