Bottle from the LCBO. Crystal clear pale gold with a small white head. Strong tropical fruit nose with mango and papaya and some floral notes. Light sweet caramel base leading to medium bitter middle and finish with grapefruit emerging. Medium light oily mouth with average carbonation. Seems a little thin. Nice, but not as good as the Bellwoods Citra Monogamy I had this week.

500 mL bottle. Clear gold pour with a medium semi foamy white head. Strong tropical fruit, though not the usual grapefruit, more so of the pineapple. Taste is big on the citric hop bitterness, grass and biscuit flavours. Nice balance.

Looking for an IPA that stands out from the crowd? This is the one to try. What makes it different? The typical IPA tropes (big bitterness, the pine etc) are dropped for a single hop exploration. Forget grapefruit notes, Iím getting papaya, Caribbean style mango, strong doses of fried apricot & an odd element I canít explain -- a reviewer below calls it "fruit mold" (forgive his/her American misspelling of mould) & that comes close but not quite it. I love single Citra hopped Brews -- Great Lakes Karma Citra is the clear best & I will trade you to prove it -- & this one is so distinct. Iíd absolutely love to try this fresh and/or on tap. Iíve drank a wide variety of IPAs this March (its research in need of funding) & while this ainít the best itís the most perplexing & unique by far. Will return to the store for more.

500 ml bottle at the Salhojankadun Pub, Tampere, Finland.
Clear golden colour with a small white head. Fruity and piney hops, caramel malt and some toffee sweetness in the aroma. Fruity and piney hops, moderate bitterness and caramel malt in the flavour. Bitterness and sweetness in the aftertaste. Not bad.

Pours crystal clear gold with a small white top. Aroma is grapefruit and citrus hops with grass. Taste is a bright citrus and orange hop bitterness up front. A little grassy malt and then finish. Not much to the lingering bitterness and no dankness.

500 mL bottle. Brilliantly clear golden with, unfortunately, very little head. Lemon and grapefruit in the nose. The flavour is lovely, with the citra countered by some bready malt. Good bitterness. Carbonation is a touch on the high side. Nice beer.

probstblueribbon (3254) - Nepean, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 21, 2015
500 ml bottle from LCBO served cool in a tulip glass. Clear deep golden with a fluffy white head. Pungent, bright lemon citrus, resin, pepper, dank, some tropical fruit, lovely hop expression. Medium body, slightly relaxed carbonation. Citrus and tropical fruit with an unfortunate mold favour, citrus comes through fairly strongly; off-dry with decent bitterness and a fruity and citrusy finish. Oh you devil....

Spab (2726) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 21, 2015
500 ml bottle from LCBO. Pours a clear golden colour with modest-sized white head. Aroma is sweet and citric with some biscuity grains and grass. Flavour has solid citric hoppiness with sweet, biscuity malt and some spicy grassiness. Carbonation on the gentler side. Pleasant.

Smells fairly nice, if a bit subdued. Some citrus, light malt and a hint of sourness. Completely clear, golden yellow with a quickly dissipating white head. Taste is quite malty, a hint of sourness, some of the citrus hops present in the aroma. Finish is slightly sour. Not too great. Medium bodied, average carbonation.

500ml bottle. Clear golden with a thin frothy white head. Flavors are bread, biscuit, bubblegum, resinous hops, skunk, sulphur and grass with earthy and fruity notes. Medium body, soft carbonation, smooth texture.
