Bottle. Pale golden colour with white head, that leaves some nice lacing. Strong aroma of tropical fruits like mango, grapefruit, pineapple, lemon, orange and some piney notes. Very hoppy bitter taste, dragging all that fruits with it. Excellent beer!

Cask.
Oakham does wonders with citra hops.
Big citrus and tropical nose and taste, chewy, oily, sticky beer. A pleasure to have on cask.

UPDATED: NOV 13, 2012 Aroma: Stunning, powerful aroma of pineapple, lemon, passionfruit and mango, with subtle grassy, resin and biscuit notes. Slight soapy hint. I can’t wait to taste this.
Appearance: Slightly hazy, golden body with a large, fluffy white head that holds reasonably well. Fairly large yeast particles floating around once the full bottle is poured. Lively carbonation. Lots of sticky lacing.
Taste: Lovely juicy tropical fruit flavours. Very hoppy and refreshing - I love the Citra hop and this showcases it perfectly. Not a great deal of malt character, but who cares? This is amazing. Light, bitter finish and barely a hint of its 6.0% ABV.
Palate: Medium body with a sleek, oily texture. Nice carbonation fizz.
Overall: Wow, wow, wow! An utterly brilliant beer - probably the best I have ever tasted. I have literally gone and ordered 10 bottles of it online on the basis on this tasting. I will definitely be seeking this out on cask. For me, it is a stronger, hoppier version of the (also amazing) Jarl by Fyne Ales.

Cask at the Cambridge Blue, Cambridge England 13th August 2011. Gold with thin white head and a little lacing. Wildly fruity and hoppy. Grapefruit and grass early and late, with an explosion of fruity hoppiness in-mouth.The finish is richly hoppy and satisfyingly intense. Exquisite.

Bottle at UDRBM. Clear golden pour. Aroma full of tropical fruits, grapefruit, pine, some resin and loads of floral hops. Flavor is even better, quite bitter and full of lovely hops. Amazing brew. Would love this as a session ale.

UPDATED: NOV 17, 2012 Hand pulled at the Wellington, Birmingham. Golden, thin white head. Smells like pickled mango, with a hint of mint chili. Very tasty stuff, but I have to admit, this doesn’t strike me as vastly different from Oakham’s excellent APAs. Smooth, very tangy, with rich tropical notes and sweet Darjeeling. Bitter on the finish, with a little crunching dryness. As lovely as I expected. RE RATE: Bottle at Bartons Arms, Birmingham. Wow. I Totally underrated this previously. Perhaps it was under conditioned on my cask sample, but this bottle was chiming; the hops were clanging on my tongue and my tastebuds were ringing. Supremely singular - clean, tangy, tasty and super smooth (yet crisp). My nadgers were veritably twitching. Can see this becoming my ’go to’ beer. Prev score 3.9 on 1/6/12. Now throttled up to 4.5 on 17/11/12.

Comes in a 660 ml bottle and is excellent value. This has been my favourite beer of the last few months. The aroma is very powerful citrus fruits, grapefruit & mango. Very hoppy. Feels great in the mouth with good strong carbonation and a nice crisp bitter finish. This is surely one of the very best British IPA’s out there. Superb

Wow! Like Oakham Citra only stronger and more flavoursome if Citra were the IPA this would be the DIPA however Citra is a pale ale with Green Devil as the IPA so maybe the DIPA is yet to come.
For the un initiated this beer showcases the Citra hop so called for it’s strong citrusy flavours think passionfruit, grapefruit, mango etc.
Oakham ales produce some amazing beers and I am very lucky to have a Oakham pub in my home city which has also influenced other pubs to stock their beers.
Summary, citrusy Citra hopped refreshing deceptively quaffable beautiful piney aroma and a bitter finish. Yum!

Cask handpull at Tap East Stratford. Clear yellow gold colour with thick white head. Aroma of sweaty citra hops. Wow that is hoppy. Creamy mouthfeel. Wow that is hoppy as hell. Good though. My god that is good. All the Oakham easy drinking know how with a hop kick from the devil himself. Seriously bitter on the finish. Thats pretty damn good. Lovely. 4.3/5
