prawlie (1112) - Berkshire, ENGLAND - SEP 11, 2013
Pint at the Nags Head in Reading. Golden, with a fine bubbly foam head. Dry, bitter, light grapefruit, tasty. Grapefruit aroma, but not over the top. Very dry aftertaste, but still manages to slip down well. A good English (albeit American influenced) golden ale.

berkshirejohn (4405) - Bracknell, Berkshire, ENGLAND - JUN 17, 2013
Cask at the Duke William, Burslem. Pale straw in colour and slightly cloud with a tight white head; fresh citrus aroma; sweet grapefruit taste; with a strong lasting bitterness and grapefruit aftertaste. Better than the average citrus summer beer.

Otterdance (164) - Norwich, Norfolk, ENGLAND - JUN 5, 2013
Ribs of Beef. Clear straw yellow with a deep, frothy, white head. Hay, grapefruit, some sweet peach. Big bitter finish with a tiny flourish of malt. Light bodied and refreshing. Strongly hopped light golden ale with low abv - good summer drinking.

Leighton (10543) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAY 31, 2013
Cask at the Old Fountain - London. Pours perfectly clear yellow with a frothy white crown. Smells great, lots of citrus rind and grass. Light sweet flavor with heady bitterness of grapefruit, lemon rind and grass. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Grassy and lightly resinous to finish, with delicate pale malt sweetness and mild hay. The bitterness is a touch abrasive, but aside from that it’s nice.

RichTheVillan (2510) - West Midlands, ENGLAND - MAY 10, 2013
Cask at Barton Arm 10th Anniversary fest; light amber pour with soapy white aroma, citrus aroma, big citrus taste backed up with sweet malts. Decent level of bitterness.

Cask@The Criterion, Leicester. Golden beer with a strong head. The aroma is fruity with dryness. The flavour is also dry with bitter fruitiness, like grapefruit. Overall a good beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

BlackHaddock (3515) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - APR 30, 2013
Hand-pulled pint in the excellent ’Rib of Beef’ in Norwich on 20 Apr 2013. This is one of those beers I currently have a problem with: I am fed up to the teeth with golden, light brews with a strong citrus aroma and taste. I should have known what I was ordering I suppose, Oakham have a few of these style of beers. Not for me, but others love this now common style of beer in the UK. Refreshing and thirst quenching it is, malty and harty it isn’t. Anyway, scored objectively.

Cask @ CPK. Medium gold color with a small head. The aroma’s bright citrus, pee. Summery fruit orchard. A bit of salty sweat. The taste is similar. Light zippy citrus. Lemon drizzle cake. Citric bitter finish. A bit of cake dough. Really light body. Thirst quenching and pretty out-sized in flavor considering the ABV. Really cool stuff. Another quality Oakham effort.

Theydon_Bois (7955) - The ’Sham, Surrey, ENGLAND - APR 14, 2013
Cask at the Sussex Arms, Twickenham Green, 13/04/13. Clear golden with a thin white head that clears to a film. Nose is caramel malt, citrus, sugar, hops, perfume notes. Taste comprises orange, citrus, hops, light mango, some malt presence. MEdium bodied, moderate carbonation, light hop bitterness in the finish. Easy drinking stuff but not one of Oakham’s best efforts!

Cask at Babelas Leicester. Taste is nice, I like it, peach flavours hoppy bitterness. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
