cgarvieuk (2544), Edinburgh, Scotland Oct 9, 2008 I spotted this in the Top 10 beers available in scotland today. When i saw the picture i thought "oh i have one of these at home" ... When i went to my Cupboard not only did i have it, but it was sitting in my Drink next section Thanks to Fin for this one i think... So with all the portents i had high hopes ... but to no avail ... Deep black with light thin head ... little coffee and huge amount of hops in nose... huge hop front that kills all the Roast malt character... little roast in background along with a lot of bitter hop... Almost drain pour. Hugh (120), Breda, Netherlands Sep 18, 2008 Bottle, labelled 5.6%. Dark, but hops and flavours I would expect to find in a light coloured beer. Loads of hops and coffee, it really works. Surprising. KimJohansen (4299), Copenhagen V, Denmark Sep 3, 2008 Dark brown with medium beige head. Aroma has roasted malt and coffee notes. Sweet flavour with roasted malt, loads of hops and coffee notes. Finishes bitter. Marsiblursi (1432), Gö te la borrrrg, Sweden Aug 18, 2008 (Bottle) Pours near black. The aroma is hoppy with tones of wood, flowers and sweet grapefruit alongside light to medium roasted malt notes of chocolate and dark bread. The flavour is heavily hoppy with tones of grapefruit and resin. Some roasted malt with notes of coffee is also present. Heavily bitter and light sweet. The mouthfeel is dry and clean. Medium bodied.
