5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20
This is the best beer Iíve tasted in a long while. Very Hoppy, which I obviously like, pale, clear, I wonder if itís been dry hopped in the barrel. Reminiscent of how Theakstons bitter used to taste 30 years ago before it turned to Gnats Piss.
Sampled in Captain Cookís in Staithes N.Yorks at an extortionate price.

4.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Straw coloured, grassy and citrussy hop nose. Full malt taste with a medium body of toffee malt but the bitterness and tangeriney, citric hops overwhelm the malt at the finish which is long, bitter but still has some malt. Excellent. (Cask @ Smithfield, Manchester)

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Handpulled cask at JDW Watford. Pale pilsner yellow with a throthy white head. Usual Oakham knock ’em dead hoppy arma. Usual Oakham hop attack taste. Wonderful multi layered citric bitterness with orgasmic resinous palate. Superb! as I expected.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Gravity, Far From The Madding Crowd, Oxford. Served on the cool side with a bit of chill haze. Bright copper, persistant sticky bright white head. Fresh flowery peach, pink grapefruit bitterness, cold melon sweetness. Ultra fine sparkle, tingles on the tongue like fresh coconut milk. A great example of what makes Oakham beers exceptional.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 19/20
UPDATED: JUL 26, 2008 Cask gravity at GBBF 07. Gold, bubbly white head. Typical Oakham hop aroma. Alcohol is a little sticky, but in a good way. Excellent finish. Not as good as the Bishops Farewell I had later on in the day, which was perfect. Still, pleased to have this as number 3500. 3.6/5.0 Re-rate at Samuel Peto, JDW, Folkestone Blond, hoppy and in great condition. Not uber hoppy by my stnadards but I could still taste the hops in my mouth 30 minutes later.

UPDATED: AUG 25, 2008 A Mes rate: cask at Baker St Sporks
Gorgeous clean pale gold with a thin white head and easily the best condition I have had in this place. Stunning aroma that is incredibly Belgian. Assertive hops, lovely biscuity malt base that sits perfectly in the background and some beautiful yeasty notes. Reminds me very much of something by De Dolle and itís totally adorable. The flavour is not quite in the same league. The biscuit malt comes right to the front and drowns out the hops just a bit too much. That said the bitter finish has excellent length and leaves me yearning for more. Not their best but still bloody good stuff from Oakham.

UPDATED: AUG 27, 2009 Cask at íSpoons, Milton Keynes. Gold with a white head. Sweet hoppy aroma, spicy, fruity taste and a sharp mid bitter finish. Not too much intrusive citrus for a change. Sets the standard for summer golden beers. 27.8.09 Cask at Cambridge Blue, Cambridge. Floral hop aroma and grapefruit taste. Mid bitter. Decent. Rated:6,3,7,4,13:3.3

Cask conditioned @ JDW, Soton. Fruit, citric hops. Some sweet malt , tangy body. Emphasis on the bitterness but not excessively so. Another quaffable golden ale but with plenty of flavour- great.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
A mid amber gold coloured beer with a weak white head. A potent citrusy fruit nose with a wheaty, cereal aroma to follow. The taste is crisp, refreshing and dry, the hoppy citrus fruits are present again, then a wheaty flavour that adds just a touch of sweetness, finishing with a long and lingering hoppiness. (Cask - The Fox & Hounds, Heacham, Norfolk.
