Bottle from Home Bargains. This was priced so cheaply (about £1) I thought I'd try it but didn't expect much. I'm glad I did. Big for the abv, it kind of bursts on your tongue and fills your mouth. So fresh and very good indeed. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Read of the life of Jeffrey Hudson many moons ago and have been waiting to try this ale in his honour since its awards more than a decade ago. A score at just $1.80 a pint makes it even better. At just on cool and into a snifter. Very sunny; a yellow amber in body with the clarity of honey that shimmers in the lights. Big, whipped up, snow-white foam does its best to hold and laces well. Candied lemon and pear drops hit the olfactories first. There is a tart, papaya and honeydew note lingering underneath with a little stewed rhubarb, dusty pale malt and chamomile. All-round balanced to a íTí on the palate. First sip brings along everything its got. Sweet and sour citrus fruit and zest, pine wood, a dry, herbaceous finish that is floral and also dusty from the pleasing malt profile. There is a zing of lime juice that fades into palest honey and cereal malts, before a moderate, nettle soaked bitterness on the peak. Body is light to medium with good feel, foamy, soft effervescence and well rounded flavours. Leaves the palate cleansed and just calls for another sip. Glad I bought quite a few of these as tonight is looking sorted. Lovely!! (50cL, BB 31/08/15, Luckies Liquor, East Vic. Park)
