COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask; Regular. Aka Jeffrey Hudson Bitter. Also available bottled @ 4.2% abv.
A golden beer whose aroma is dominated by hops that give characteristic citrus notes. Hops and fruit on the palate are balanced by malt and a bitter base. Dry hoppy finish with soft fruit flavors. A nationally respected ale, winner of numerous awards, JHB is a blond baby packed with flavour & perfect for those long sessions as well as a quick pint at lunchtime. This popular beer was crowned Champion beer of britain in the bitter category in 2001 and 1999.
Challenger and American Mount Hood hops.

On cask at their restaurant - poured golden yellow with a white call. The smell was grain, citrus, grass. The taste was biscuit, grass, mild dry citrus, with light body and mild carbonation.

500 ml bottle from Les Vignerons. Dark golden yellow, pretty clear, with a tiny, non persistent white head. Pretty delicate smell, floral and citrusy hops, a hint of butter, white bread and grass. Very English indeed with an American twist. Pleasent bitterness, slightly soapy, subtle but clean malty backbone. Rather good hoppy aftertaste. Average carbonation, medium body, creamy texture. Easily quaffable and thirst quenching. Pleasent golden ale.

Bottle from The Wine Emporium February 2014. Lighter side of light as far as flavour and aroma goes. Not bad but just doesn’t really do anything for me.

Kolor slomkowy, idealnie klarowne. Piana niska, kremowa, szybko opada, ale mocno oblepia szklo. W aromacie zbozowa slodowosc i lekki chmiel o cytrusowo-zywiczno-lesnym charakterze. Wysycenie symboliczne, w zasadzie prawie niewyczuwalne.

4.2% ABV. Blonde Beer. Light frothy head that is shortlived. Nose is light, beery (thanks to the wheat) and carbonated. Almost likely putting our nose to sparkling lemonade. Full-bodied ale with wheat and barley showing through. It has nice bright moments where the wheaty part of it’s pedigree peeks through, not unlike a nice witbier. The bitter hops dominate on the front end of the palate and bow out politely to leave the palate clean, uncluttered and ready for another mouthful of this refreshing ale. This is not a confusing or darkly complex ale, it has no airs about it, giving you it’s clean frank flavors and then stepping aside to quietly allow you to make up your mind. Quite the well thought out experience. Kudos to the fine folks at Oakham for putting something so approachably affable. Very nice indeed.

Shared by martjoobolut, thanks! Clear golden beer, small white head, filmy retention. Both the nose and the flavor have biscuity malt, mild caramel hints, grapefruit. Decent bitterness in the finish. This bottle is showing it’s age, could use a rerate.

0,5L bottle, BB 19.09.2014. Pours clear golden with off-white head. The head stays for a moment. Aroma is fruity, sweet and dry hoppy bitter. Flavor is sweet & bitter, fruits, and malt. Finish is dry bitter. Overall: ok brew, I guess fresher sample would be a lot better.
