COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask: Regular (previously Occasional). Also available bottled at 4.8% - filtered but unpasteurised.
Tart gooseberry and soft peach on the nose. Gooseberries and fruit to taste, before an intense bitterness that’s as sharp as a macaw’s screech!

From the commercial description on the actual bottle, I expected a big hoppy hit but am disappointed - dull aroma, flat (typical of English Ale) and mediocre palate. Not thirst quenching. Dull and uninspiring. Unpleasant mouthfeel afterwards.

Bottled from Glug Newcastle. This is stunning. Beautiful tropical fruit aroma and flavour, soft semi sweet palate with light caramel. Peppery traces give a fine tang at the back of the throat and there’s warmth in the finish. Lovely amber colour, one of my favourites this year.

Yummy mummy. Tart resin citrus flavours. Medium body but complexity makes this a bit more of a heavy weight than first sip belies.Zingy ending that lasts and then breaks into a pleasing bitterness.

Bottle. Clear copper. Gooseberry and peach? Yeah, I’ll go with that description. It’s tart and floral. Nice sweet blonde ale.

Bottle bb 21/05/14. Pours a nice pale amber colour. Aroma is toffee, a bit of peach, some green apple, some leaves - an autumnal aroma. Light to medium body, mild carbonation. It has some toffee sweetness, some ripe tropical fruits, some citrus, pepper and a nice bitter finish. Good.

500 ml bottle @ Rotterdam, Helsinki. Pours a copper colour with a white head. Aroma of sweetish malts, grass and floral notes. Flavour of caramel malts, pine, grass, floral notes, grapefruit and pineapple. Medium bodied, slick mouthfeel and soft carbonation. Extremely good drinkability. Enjoyable.

Pour is quite dark for the style with a good head. Gooseberry, pine and earthy hops with a bitter finish. Excellent beer.
