3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
500 ml. bottled dated best by 12/9/14. It pours a clear golden color with a small white head. The aroma is pleasant with honey and fruit. Mostly gooseberries, apple, pear and maybe some peach. Mild spicy aromatics in the background. The flavor is the same with a nice biscuits and honey malt base and more citrus, orange, gooseberries and pear fruitiness. The finish is spicy bitter. It has a bit of a fuller body than expected for the ABV. Overall, a very tasty and easy drinking hoppy beer. Well done.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
500ml bottle from B&M Bargains - Clear amber body with lively carbonation. Fairly muted nose but there is an aroma of hops, citrus and a slightly tropical note, and that gooseberry you are promised comes in. On the palate it is medium bodied, has a hoppy pine bitterness, and a tropical fruit flavour, with peaches and vanilla on the finish.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle, 0.50l. Clear deep golden color with large rocky off-white head, great lacing and average sparkling appearance. Aroma of fruity hops, peach, berries and mild malt. Taste starts with light sweet toasted malt and biscuit notes, fresh fruity following, tart mouthfeel and heavy bitter finish with pleasant long aftertaste. Full body, slick texture and soft carbonation in palate. Wow, that was really pungent birdie...

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Cask @ Engineers Arms, Henlow. Amber, almost copper. Little head. Slightly muted aroma: grape, grass and malt. Sharp bitterness throughout. A hint of fruity sweetness is present but overpowered. Not the most exciting in Oakham’s stable. Good enough but I wouldn’t go out of my way to have it again.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
500 ml bottle from B&M. Poured cold into a large San Miguel tasting glass. Greengage and cat pee aroma. Orangey gold body with a generous white head producing lacing down the glass. Typical Oakham American hops, delivering apricots and Olde English Marmalade flavour balanced by some Demerara sweetness from the malt, which is then shouldered aside by an assertive bitter finish. Medium bodied, sticky texture, prickly carbonation. Pleasingly robust for a blond ale. Candy in the eructation.
