3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Cask @ Engineers Arms, Henlow. Amber, almost copper. Little head. Slightly muted aroma: grape, grass and malt. Sharp bitterness throughout. A hint of fruity sweetness is present but overpowered. Not the most exciting in Oakham’s stable. Good enough but I wouldn’t go out of my way to have it again.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
500 ml bottle from B&M. Poured cold into a large San Miguel tasting glass. Greengage and cat pee aroma. Orangey gold body with a generous white head producing lacing down the glass. Typical Oakham American hops, delivering apricots and Olde English Marmalade flavour balanced by some Demerara sweetness from the malt, which is then shouldered aside by an assertive bitter finish. Medium bodied, sticky texture, prickly carbonation. Pleasingly robust for a blond ale. Candy in the eructation.

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours a clear light medium amber with a very nice head and lacing that retains quite well. Nose is of light sweet fruit, mostly peach, against a subtle toast malt essence. The body is light medium in texture coupled with a normal level of carbonation. The flavor profile is well balanced and quite nice. It begins with a fruit hop flavor, mostly peach, over a toast/biscuit sweetness. It then progresses to a well crafted level of bitterness - not too bold, but just right to arouse the taste buds. It finishes with a slightly citrus bitterness that lingers that is somewhat crisp. An excellent English use of Amarillo and Summit hops.

Light amber colour. Big hop nose is full of tropical goodness - mango, dragonfruit, papaya... Lots of bitterness, clean pale malts and all kinds of big fruity hops. Gorgeous stuff.
