Tart gooseberry and soft peach on the nose. Gooseberries and fruit to taste, before an intense bitterness that’s as sharp as a macaw’s screech!

Cask. Slightly fuzzy rich gold ale. Thick cream head. Nose of strawberry and gooseberry in cream. Mouth is creamy, imparting BAGS of spice, berries (goose and rasp) and brambles. Spicy bitter lingering finish. Zing!

Such an interesting aroma- fruity, but not like the typical tropical fruit. Soft carbonation, unique fruitiness. Really enjoyed it.

500 ml. bottled dated best by 12/9/14. It pours a clear golden color with a small white head. The aroma is pleasant with honey and fruit. Mostly gooseberries, apple, pear and maybe some peach. Mild spicy aromatics in the background. The flavor is the same with a nice biscuits and honey malt base and more citrus, orange, gooseberries and pear fruitiness. The finish is spicy bitter. It has a bit of a fuller body than expected for the ABV. Overall, a very tasty and easy drinking hoppy beer. Well done.

500ml bottle from B&M Bargains - Clear amber body with lively carbonation. Fairly muted nose but there is an aroma of hops, citrus and a slightly tropical note, and that gooseberry you are promised comes in. On the palate it is medium bodied, has a hoppy pine bitterness, and a tropical fruit flavour, with peaches and vanilla on the finish.

Bottle, 500ml. A slightly cloudy golden colour with a small white head. Aroma of spicy hops. Flavour has roasted malt, biscuit, bitter grapefruit. A bitter lemon pith finish. Not liking this at all.

pale, golden, clear, white foam, nice head that leaves lacing on the glass, medium bitterness, light body, average carbonation, bitter, sharp, honeyed peach flavour from american summit and amarillo hops. Didn’t like it from waitrose bottle £2.15.

Bottle from B&M Stockton. An amber beer with a white head. Quite a lot of flavour to this. Bitter with pine notes. Refreshing and tasty.

Bottle, 0.50l. Clear deep golden color with large rocky off-white head, great lacing and average sparkling appearance. Aroma of fruity hops, peach, berries and mild malt. Taste starts with light sweet toasted malt and biscuit notes, fresh fruity following, tart mouthfeel and heavy bitter finish with pleasant long aftertaste. Full body, slick texture and soft carbonation in palate. Wow, that was really pungent birdie...

Cask @ Engineers Arms, Henlow. Amber, almost copper. Little head. Slightly muted aroma: grape, grass and malt. Sharp bitterness throughout. A hint of fruity sweetness is present but overpowered. Not the most exciting in Oakham’s stable. Good enough but I wouldn’t go out of my way to have it again.
