2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 tombyars (1204) - Saltcoats, SCOTLAND - FEB 16, 2012
Tasted this at the Troon Beer Festival in September 2003. Cask, handpump dispense. Clear golden amber in colour with a thin white head. Floral hops and sherbert lemon on the short nose. Thin mouthfeel and good lacing. Pale malt gives a juicy fruit flavour of lemon peel and kiwi. Bitter hop resins impart a dry dusty aftertaste which combines well with the malt. Finish is increasingly dry and pithy with astringent notes full in the mouth. A below par session Wheat Ale.

(Cask at Bree Louise, London) This beer was very citric. There were citricness both in aroma and in taste. Aroma had some yeast, too, which didn’t really fit in so well. Maltiness was quite low which wasn’t really a surprise. Aftertaste was long lasting and bitter. Nice.
