harrisoni (5331), Ashford, Kent, England Jun 30, 2005 Updated: Aug 13, 2007 Cask at Oakham Brewery Tap, Peterborough. This is almost as good as it gets. I have known a 9 of this disappear in a smallish pub in 6 hours. Wonderfully drinkable with all of the normal Oakhams bits (golden hoppy citrus zesty) but with a roundedness from the addition of malted wheat. Fabulous.
Re-rate Planet Thanet Beer Festival 2007. I had this 4 times, first and last beer of each day and it was faultless, the citrus aroma, the body that is fuller due to the addition of wheat and this grapefruit/tangerine finish that lasts and lasts.
evilsoc (169), Wales Sep 8, 2008 Orange and clementine aroma, floral US hops carry into the flavour. Full hops but a little quick finish. caesar (2573), Bunnik/Utrecht, Netherlands Aug 13, 2008 Tap @ Brew wharf. Clear golden color, short white head. Aroma of citrus, lemon, some hop. Sweet sour lemon taste, decent bitter finish. On the brink of dishwashing water, but the hops keep it on the good side. SaintMatty (515), Tallinn, Estonia Aug 11, 2008 Cask (Guide Dog,Southampton) - Pale golden in colour. Citric and hoppy aroma with tangy grapefruit. Refreshing taste with hops and grapefruit and a tangy and hoppy finish. Very nice. doubelknv3 (489), Illinois, USA Jun 24, 2008 Tasting notes from 2004 Banbury beer festival. Golden, cloudy, with lasting white head. Citrus, floral, and grass aroma. Citrus, earthy, and hop bitter finish. The wheat was very mild. DruncanVeasey (1735), No. 46, Leicestershire, Germany Apr 1, 2008 Cask, The Tap, Peterborough. Thin, still, pale and haloed with white. Loads of grapefruity tang, grainy malt, and similar single hop zest to the Crouch Vale. Citrussy snout with a wring of dishcloth. Lemony, fresh, leafy and all that. A bit tiring.
