On tap at Bistro BA Fest poured a translucent dark brown with a lingering ring of brown foam. Aromas of roastiness, oak, earthiness, bitter chocolate, light vinous notes and light vanilla. Palate was medium bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of roastiness, bitter chocolate, vinous notes, oak and light vanilla with a smooth dry roasty finish.

Draft. Blackish beer with a tan head. Red wine and rich malt aroma. Rich malt and red wine flavor. Medium bodied. Red wine and rich malt linger with light roast and light oak.

Black in color with a small off-white head. Interesting nose of smoke, licorice, charred oak, wine, and red wine vinegar. Dark fruit notes, sugar, and a hint of coffee. The flavor is fairly fruity with a nice wine note. Fairly tart with some definite vinegar sourness. Roasted malt, a hint of alcohol, oak, and some char. A little bit of licorice and burnt sugar, too.

On tap. Black with a creamy head. Aroma of roasted grain, burnt coffee and wine barrel. Tastes of burnt grain, sour fruit, allspice, and bitter chocolate with a chalky soured wine finish.

Draft at the Bistro West Coast Barrel Aged Beer Festival. Pours very dark brown/black with a ruddy tan smear. Lots of vinosity for aroma. Full bodied. Flavor is chocolate,oak, smooth burnt malt and a good dose of red berry. Has a sour aspect. Very tasty.
