BMan1113VR (7382) - Los Angeles, California, USA - JAN 29, 2012
On tap. Pours with a clear golden hue with a lasting white head. Aromas are of candied orange, tangerine, caramel, tamarind, esters and floral notes. Flavors are of stanky dank hop notes and citrus. Some strong tannic extracted astringency kills it though. Nut shells, bitter, citrus peel, astringent. Grassy. Lively bubbles and dry. Nearly there.

On tap. Pours a clear copper with a small white head that has decent retention and leaves some light lacing on the glass. The aroma is caramel, light pine hops, light grapefruit, and a big of diacetyl. The initial tasty is malty, but not sweet with caramel, very light pine and grapefruit. The finish has a medium bitterness and a bit of diacetyl that lingers. Medium body. Medium carbonation. Not very enjoyable. Not happy enough and the diacetyl was unpleasant. 5.3.5.3.10

A - Served a clear copper-orange color with a finger of frothy white head. The head fades down at a normal pace leaving behind some good lacing. S - Aroma is a mix of big citrus and pine hops with some sweet caramel malt in the background, and a touch of almost spicy hop. T - Starts off with some pine hops with some good bitterness and some sweet caramel malt in the background. Through the middle, some more grapefruit and citrus hops come through with a bit of light spicy hop and some more bitterness. The finish is a mix of piney and spicy hop with some bitterness and caramel malts. M - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Feels smooth with a dry and bitter finish. D - Very drinkable. Nice big hoppy IPA with a good complex hop profile and a nice level of bitterness throughout.

Tap @ Porky’s: Light gold color with foamy white head. Lemon aroma with a little coriander thrown in. Unfortunately it all ends there. The taste is hairspray and cardboard and overall - nasty. Tangy finish and not that good.

On tap at Rubicon, Sacramento. Pours light caramel with a thin beige head and a light floral aroma. There is a hearty caramel malt flavor with a nice hop profile that transitions smoothly from slightly sweet to very bitter.

Pours bright medium amber with a creamy near white head. Resin aroma. Maybe some floral. Med body. Flavor is lots of resin hop with some floral aspects. Caramel in the background. It’s really hoppy and bitter. Very good.
