Cask; Regular. Also available bottle conditioned.
Strong, dark and intensely malty, this bitter has everything you need for a cold winters evening yet surprisingly easy to drink for a hot summers day.

Caramel brown, clear, dense off white head
Aroma of caramel, touch of brown bread, dab of spicy English hops
Taste of caramel, twiggy hops, spicy hop, no fruits, metallic tinge
Palate - Soft bitter. Finish is bitter with some rust.
Overall - Wasn’t all that keen this to be honest.

Cask at The Moon Under Water (JDW), Watford on 28 Oct. Poured a hazy dark brown, with a dense off white head. Poured a hazy dark brown, with a dense off white head. Aroma of toasted malt, dried fruit and light smoke. Very smooth palate. Rich fruit flavours, with some brown sugar and some spice. Finish was light spruce roasted malt and dark fruit.

Cask at the Willow Walk, JDW - London. Pours clear, deep amber-garnet with a frothy, light tan head. Nice lightly toasted brown bread aroma with touches of cocoa and dark berries. Light to medium sweet flavor with lots of ripe, dark fruits, some busted old leather, earth, burnt toast and toffee. Medium bodied with fine carbonation; good condition. Decent balance on the finish with more dried dark fruits, berries, toast, grains, earth. Solid ESB from start to end.

Cask by hand-pump at Counting House, Glasgow (2014 Winter Festival) - very clear deep brown, good creamy beige head, toffee malty aroma with a bit of earthiness, excellent lacing, smooth, creamy malty, soft carbonation, very easy to drink

Cask at the Railway Putney. Dark brown, murky, still, small ring of off-white head. Aroma is burnt toffee, agave syrup. Body is light, smooth, touch of carbonation. Taste is malt-forward, thin, drying. Tastes sweetened. Very basic bitter. Sorry - I want to like it......but I don’t particularly.

Cask at the crosse keys city. Clear reddy amber coloured pour with a loose greyish creamy head. Aroma is big sweet nutty toffee and praline with some woody dirt. Flavour is malty caramel, toffee with nice dried fruit and mineral character. Palate is medium bodied with a hefty sweetness, and rounded finish. Lingering caramel choc and bark.

Cask at the White Swan, Solihull. Poured a clear medium amber with a frothy white head and some clingy lace. The aroma is rich malt with ripe red berry fruit. The flavour is moderate bitter with a rich, fruity malt, light spice, light hop palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.
