hughie (3016), Bedford, Bedfordshire, England Nov 7, 2007 Cask at Wellington Arms, Bedford. This was a real cracker: copper amber, sweet fruity aroma. Sweet malt taste with luscious spiced fruits and a mid bitter finish. The flavours combined beautifully. More beers should be like this. larsam (127), Southampton, Bedfordshire, England Jan 12, 2006 Bottle conditioned. Golden, slightly hazy with fine white head. Aroma and flavour dominated by the cascade, but is well balanced by a caramell sweetness. The mothfeel is soft and lingering. DanielBrown (1919), Birmingham (via Leicester), West Midlands, England Jul 20, 2005 Hand pulled at the Briar Rose, Birmingham. Dark orangey gold colour, with a small head. Nice aroma, the sort that gets me very excited, i.e. hints of resinous hop. Initially I thought the flavour flattered to deceive, with a good hoppy start that fades into a dull finish. The more I drank however, the more I realised that this is superb session material. The hop quality is excellent: fresh, juicy, lime tartness and refreshing. The mouthfeel undulates and quivers onyour tongue and the fresh feeling of the hops is infectious. This is tangy, full flavoured, and really an excellent beer. ChristianScheffel (4431), Odense, Denmark Jun 25, 2009 Cloudy golden with a small white head. Aroma has sometea, with citrus and tropical fruits. Dry and fruity flavour well hopped and quite awesome! Comments: Extremely crisp, juicy, brightly hoppy, well yeasted. Tasty ingredients through and through. Beautiful.
HogcliffeLenny (162), Christchurch, Dorset, England Sep 19, 2007 Cask: New Forest Hotel, Ashurst which, as it happens, is in the New Forest. A good orange/copper colour with a lightish off white head. A nutty/pine aroma invites you to take a sip. First taste was pure ecstasy - mind you, I was gagging for a pint. A lovely nuttiness combined with floral notes and the slightest touch of citrus. A slight creaminess in the mouth and a lingering nutty bitterness on the palate. Altogether, a very nice pint. DownsouthGav (602), Greater London, England Oct 8, 2007 Thick foamy head. Pours an amber coloured beer. Nose if soapy and has notes of flowers, lemon and grapefruits. The body is really held together well, nicely balanced. Taste is sweet with the hops (cascade) being restrained and poised to compliment the aftertaste. A really refreshing beer Pale Ale. I’d have this one again and again. harrisoni (6703), Ashford, Kent, England Jul 17, 2005 Cask at County Hotel JDW Ashford. I am still learning to distinguish hop varieties, but now I think that I could spot cascades. Copper coloured, good distinctive aroma of cascades, slightly creamy in mouth. Citrus and slight herb. Good bitterness and finish with good strawberry/raspberry malt to balance it. Had to go back for another
