3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Cask at the Michael Bacon JDW, blond with a fine white head anda citrus hoppy nose. Powerfully dry-bitter on the palate, yet with an earthy note and an underlying maltiness, it’s almost like an English take on an American IPA.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Cask at the Old Gaolhouse (JDW), Winchester. Amber with a tight cream head; muted tropical fruit aroma; the taste is also quite muted with more tropical fruit and some grapefruit; then a sharp, short-lived, grapefruity bitterness, before a return to sweet mango finish. An interesting attempt at the American IPA style, but needing more of everything.
