3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Cask at the Old Gaolhouse (JDW), Winchester. Amber with a tight cream head; muted tropical fruit aroma; the taste is also quite muted with more tropical fruit and some grapefruit; then a sharp, short-lived, grapefruity bitterness, before a return to sweet mango finish. An interesting attempt at the American IPA style, but needing more of everything.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Cask at the Sussex Arms, Twickenham Green - 14/04/12.
Golden in appearance with a thin white head.
Fruit, sweet malt and a little background hop on the nose.
Flavour brought out the flavours a little more than the nose, citrus hop, buttery and a bitter sweet finish. Distinctly whelming !

On cask at The Cask and Barrel, Southside. Pours a dark golden colour with a thick white head. A lovely upfront marmalade aroma with pine, caramel, grassy hops and alcohol. Similar flavours with a lovely bitter orange character and moderate bitterness. Moderate carbonation and an oily mouth-feel. Delicious!

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Finally: an ipa which is actually pale. Decent English style beer with an impressive hop character for the style. Like it - not slot but I like it!
