Cask (Gallows Bird, Espoo, Real Summer Ale Festival 2004) Copper coloured, tiny head. Sweet fruity aroma, marmaladey. Rich nutty malty taste. Very good example of an English bitter.

Cask (handpump), rediscovered notes from March 2004. Venue uncertain. Amber colour. Sweetish and predominantly malty with some underlying spicy hop character. Smooth and mellow without much bitterness. Could maybe use a touch more grip and bite, but pretty decent. An easy drinker.

Cask conditioned. Earthy caramel aroma. Dry bitter flavour with unpleasant nutty crystal malt which fades to leave a long sticky hop finish.

Cask Fresh @ Crown & Thistle, Gravesend - a Freehouse. Slightly dark amber with a slightly foamy head. Good balance of marmalade sweet malt and good tangy bitterness. Quality throughout. [3.4]
The Oak, Bank, New Forest. Pleasant fulsome bitter. Decent sweet malt; orange marmalade; tangy hops. Some dust in the finish. Very pleasant. [3.6]

Cask Conditioned at Banbury Beer Festival. Light golden yellow with thin fluffy head. Oily, fresh flavour, a touch of linctus but rich in hops. Nice dry follow through.
