Pumpkin, cocoa nibs, cinnamon, cloves, allspice and ginger round out this imperial porter.

"This is a beer that was nice enough, but given how much I generally like strong porters, pumpkin, chocolate and Oakshire brews, a little disappointing. Everything about it was pleasant enough, itís just that the spices really drowned out the majority of the porter character, which wasnít all that "imperial" if still nice. And the chocolate really took a back seat. A little more robust and balanced, this could be great. As it is, still pretty good, but not an $8 beer."

Shared with Strykzone on Facebook Chat. . This pours dark brown, nearly black, that raised a robust tan head and thick lacing rings. Nose is roasted malts, chocolate, nutmeg, and cinnamon. Oh, yes, and hint of pumpkin. Medium in body. Mouthfeel has some bite. The flavor is chocolate and coffee, with a lot of spices, including nutmeg, cinnamon and ginger. Not much pumpkin. The finish is bitter and spicy. A pretty darn interesting beer.

Bomber from Hayduke that we had together via facebook chat. This pours quite dark and has a nice tan head that leaves cool lacing that stays put. An aroma that offers big pumpkin along with cinnamon, nutmeg, and coffee. The flavor begins with coffee and cocoa and the feel is powdery. Spices emerge that are cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger. Pumpkin is there but, interestingly, it is nowhere nearly as prominent as in the aroma. later some hops are tasted and they add bitterness and sulfur. The final sip brought some brown sugar. I did not fall in love with this beer and, frankly, it was a little too much for me. However, I did love the complexity. And in general, the pumpkin worked well in a big porter.

Supposedly this is a one time thing (or at least thatís how the label makes me feel) Pours black with just a rim and scattered few tan bubbles. Smells richly of chocolate, nutmeg, cinnamon, allspice and ginger. I like the nose - it seems inviting and warm. The flavor is vastly deviated from the nose. Dry and bitter, with flavors of seeds, coffee (burnt), char, soil and ash. The flavor is a far cry from the nose - that is such a let down. Body is full with soft carb and an overall nice feel. Overall this beer had so much going for it, but fails to bring it together and drastically fails in the flavor department. Serving type: bottle 10-20-2012

22 oz bottle- Pours black with a two finger tan head that wants to stick around. Aroma is strong in pumpkin, chocolate hits more subtly, appealing. The taste is more of a blend of chocolate and pumpkin, cinnamon is noticeable as well. Body is thick and chewy, carbonation is medium. If you get a pumpkin porter this is what I look for, the roasted grains donít over power the pumpkin and the beer as a whole is pretty delicious.

Bomber. Aroma is full of pumpkin pie spices, chocolate, candy root beer barrels, roasty, coffee. Pours a very dark brown to near black with a one-finger beige head with good retention. Taste is bittersweet with lots of black coffee and chocolate notes, followed by pie spices and a vegetal character that I assume is from the pumpkin. Mouthfeel is creamy and the body is not as full as I was expecting. Not bad.

Poured from a 22 ounce bomber, thanks to 5000. Notes of chocolate, spices, malty, roasted malts, ash. This is a bit harsh, maybe tannins from the spicing.

Pours black and maintains a nice tan head all the way through. Pumpkin ice cream on the nose, thin body with nice spice finish. Itís a little filmy at times and ends a little sharp. A fine pumpkin beer.

Draught. Black with thin beige head. Aroma is pumpkin and chocolate. Very chocolaty flavour with a bit of spice. Light pumpkin edge to the malt and spice finish. Worth seeking out

Tap at Baileyís in PDX. Huge webby mocha lace on a deep brown to black pour. Awesome lacing. Heavy pumpernickel and pumpkin spicy nose. Taste is dry, mildly soapy and quite hoppy. Very good. Dry, bitter. No sugar.
