Bottle @ Richard’s tasting. Black pour with a tan head. Pumpkin spice aroma, roasted malt, and cocoa. Some toffee sweetness, coffee, and toast. Flavor is kind of papery. Bitter roast and coffee. Dark chocolate, pumpkin spice, toffee, and toast.

On tap at Apex, pours a deep dark brown with a small beige head. Aroma of mild pumpkins, autumn spices and some light cocoa. Flavour is fairly subdued on the pumpkin, bringing out more of the chocolate notes. Quite a nice roasted quality too. No ABV detectable. Fairly light-bodied, but pleasantly flavoured. Solid stuff.

On tap at Hops and Pie poured a clear dark reddish brown with a small lasting tan head. Aromas of roasted malt, cocoa, cinnamon, allspice and clove. Palate was light to medium bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of cocoa, roasted malt and spice with a smooth dry lingering spiced finish.

Tap at Bailey’s in PDX. Huge webby mocha lace on a deep brown to black pour. Awesome lacing. Heavy pumpernickel and pumpkin spicy nose. Taste is dry, mildly soapy and quite hoppy. Very good. Dry, bitter. No sugar.

"This is a beer that was nice enough, but given how much I generally like strong porters, pumpkin, chocolate and Oakshire brews, a little disappointing. Everything about it was pleasant enough, it’s just that the spices really drowned out the majority of the porter character, which wasn’t all that "imperial" if still nice. And the chocolate really took a back seat. A little more robust and balanced, this could be great. As it is, still pretty good, but not an $8 beer."

Bomber from the grocery store. Pours a deep black color with a medium brown milk shake head. Super spicy nose with chocolates. The flavor is likewise dominated by spices, especially cloves and allspice, some light pumpkin, cocoa, dusty bitter chocolate. Light roast. Leaves your lips with spices and cocoa powder. Quite nice. Very spicy but not distractingly so.

Draft at ncbc. Pours black with loose tan fisheyes around the edge. Big dark chocolate and pie spice nose. Watery body, a bit flat. Roasty dark chocolate and pie spice mid palate. Long ashy finish.

Deep dark brown with a faint ruby highlight around the edge of the glass with a wee tight foamy light beige head. Lovely roasty sweet aroma with pumpkin spice and cinnamon and sugar dark malts. Maybe a touch of coffee as well. The flavor is nice and dark with a nice earthy sweet touch. There’s a subtle pumpkin spice note alongside some dark toast and black roast malt. Not shabby. Finishes with a bit of pumpkin.
