Head is initially small, frothy, off-white, mostly diminishing.
Body is medium brown.
Aroma is moderately malty (cookie, caramel, toasted nuts), lightly hoppy (apricot, grapefruit), with a light note of diacetyl.
Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter.
Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter.
Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation.
Pleasant if somewhat simple malty nose. Decent enough balance, maybe a little sharply bitter at the very end. Forgettable but reasonably solid.

Bomber. Roasted malts, chocolate, grapefruit, nuts and spice. Starts off bitter and finishes with an even stronger bitterness that stays with you. A bit unbalanced but overall pretty tasty.

If there was an ESSB style then this would be it. Stronger than a normal ESB and on the lower end of the strong ales, this is a great example of a gap-bridger. Nutty notes in the malt and adequate malt sweetness are balanced quite well by the smooth bittering. A few floral notes in the nose and a touch of fruitiness. A bit of diacetyl in the finish makes for an enjoyable sip. The medium body can fool you into thinking that this is a lighter alcohol ale. Soft carbonation gives impression of a fuller body. Not as hoppy as they describe, but enjoyable just the same.
