Draught. Poured red black with thin fast dissipating head. Aroma is hop citrus, toffee and smoke. Medium to light body. More toffee and sweet malt. Lasting finish, with enough hop to keep from being sicky sweet.

Bottle, cute gnome label on the front. Happy red cap to open. Feeling like the holidays already. Pours a rich deep brown with a foamy, caramel tinted color. Smelling like strong cocoa and smokey toffee. Taste is well balanced malts and hops, clean finish. Mouthfeel is a light and a bit thin, but balances well with the light finish. Glad to see this is back in stores for the season.

Bottle, shared with TylerDurden (who no longer frequents this site, the bastard). Pours a dark brown with some sedimentary particles at the end of the pour. Chunky tan head. Sweet brown sugar and raisins, sponge toffee. Astringently bitter finish, like biting into grape seeds. Medium bodied, very tasty.

Sweet bonus courtesy of bvc. Pours hazy amber with thin tan head. The aroma has various spicy notes mixing with black licorice, spicy maple and black strap molasses. The taste is spicy Christmas cookie, nutmeg as well as dried and crusty black strap molasses, black licorice and spicy maple. It has a non trivial amount of age on it but still seems pretty bright and vibrant in flavor.

I think sebletitje shared this one. Pours hazy brown with an off-white head. Nose is malt, citrus hops, herbs, and a slight floral quality. Flavor is similar with herbs and malt. Pretty good.

22oz bottle shared by DuffManSW. Rating #16. Murky dark brown pour with a light tan head. Odd aroma, light caramel and a little chocolate, but thereís something else I canít put my finger on. Roasty dark chocolate flavor with a little bitterness in the end, not bad. (1199)

This was a long distance shared beer tasting with Strykzone via Facebook chat. This poured pours reddish brown with a tan head and good lacing. The nose is fairly mild and the aroma a lightly roasted caramel malt presence with some hints of chocolate, coffee, ripe fruit and pine. Fairly complex. The mouthfeel is just a bit bolder than medium and the mouthfeel is somewhat sticky. The flavor, like the nose, is not overwhelming, and shows lots of malts with some subtle hops of citrus an pine, The finish goes on and on, and is bitter but not overly so. Overall a very drinkable brew that tastes just as good at the end as it did at the beginning..

Thanks to Hayduke for this one and we are drinking it together via Facebook chat. This beer pours a nice dark cloudy brown. Highlights are also brown. A nice thick 2 finger head collapses in on itself very slowly. Aroma takes some work to identify but is earth and a bit of chocolate. Flavor begins with hops offering pine and grapefruit. The feel is sticky which indicates lots of malt but it is quite muted. In a way this is a positive because it made me work to find the subtleties. There is a bit of chocolate, some dark fruit. The biggest thing here is the aftertaste which is also long lasting and hop dominated. A very nice beer with lots of subtlety.

UPDATED: APR 12, 2010 22 oz bottle split with a friend from Corvallis Brewing Supply. Pours a very dark brown, some edges that turn orange and a very dark amber with a medium frothy tannish head that laces pretty well. Aromas are chocolate, cocoa, a faint coffee, caramel and toffee, vanilla, nut, brown malts with a hint of roast. A light floral hopping. Initial is medium bodied, a decent maltiness and thorough sturdy hopping of florals. Cocoa, brown malts, nut, tobbacco. Caramel and toffee, a touch of soapy bitterness that really helps balance it with decent florals. Very nice beer, hop slanted even after months, lingering cocoa and caramel, brown malts linger with that mellow telltale sweetness, caramel, toffee, and toasty malt and biscuits. Nice toasty quality. Finish is mellow sweet, lingering solid hop bitterness. Tasty brew by Matt!
