3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from John’s Marketplace. Pours very ruddy copper with a multifinger foamy beige head. Warm aroma of roasted malt and xmasy spices. Medium body with foamy carbonation. Flavor is roasted malt, but not harshly roasted. The spices aren’t quite there. But there is something bitter balancing the malt - like subtle rosemary? Or maybe just fruity/floral hop. It’s a bit dirty/gritty in the finish. Still not harsh though. Really good ale, but not really great ale. Or maybe it is.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Hands down the greatest ’Holiday Ale’ I’ve ever had. Full of deep, rich leathery malt notes, and hoppage that balances the malts. Pours a dark brown with notes of amber and ruby. Not much head, but not much is needed. Finishes bitter, and begging for more.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle (thanks to Tweety for sharing this)... Poured a dark amber tone with a tan head. Very malt driven brew with a mild bitterness and warming sensation. Lightly hop with a caramel, nutty and earthy tone really shining through. Easy drinking and what you’d expect for a winter warmer.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
22oz bottle. Pours a deep dark mahogany brown with a big and lasting khaki head that leaves some pretty nice lacing. Nose is malty sweet with roasted nut, some raisin, black cherry, plum, a touch of hop pine, and very subtle spice notes. This one isn’t as malty in the flavor as I was anticipating. Some roasty nut flavor up front with a touch of dark fruit and malt, then a good amount of bitter piney hops. Second Oakshire brew that I have had and I am looking forward to more. No frills, but well made and priced right.

On tap at the KLCC Microbrew festival. Deep brown pour with a mid-sized tan head. Aroma has a light spiciness, caramel malt and a mild pine hop note. Flavor is loaded. Nuts, cinnamon, pine, booze and a lemony note in the finish. Very tasty beer, would love to try it again.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap pours dark brown with a smooth beige head. Nicely hopped up brown ale. Thin bodied, nutty flavor, soft caramel, citrus floral hop finish. I didn’t really care for this on the first sip, but this really grew on me thoughout the pint.
