Take a little gnome home this winter! However, don’t put him in the front yard. The neighbors might steal him & he’ll definitely lose his cool! He’s a malty, hoppy brown ale of pure winter deliciousness. Enjoy and Happy Holidays! ABV: 6.8% / IBUs: 65 / OG: 15.5° Plato

UPDATED: NOV 5, 2012 After sampling a bunch of Oakshire’s brews, this was my favorite. It is brand new, ready to ship for the Winter season. I think they had just tapped it before I showed up at the brewery. As fresh as it gets.

On tap at the KLCC Microbrew festival. Deep brown pour with a mid-sized tan head. Aroma has a light spiciness, caramel malt and a mild pine hop note. Flavor is loaded. Nuts, cinnamon, pine, booze and a lemony note in the finish. Very tasty beer, would love to try it again.

On draught at Oswego Grill. Dark maltiness paired with a not too bitter hop presence.

22oz bottle. Pours a deep dark mahogany brown with a big and lasting khaki head that leaves some pretty nice lacing. Nose is malty sweet with roasted nut, some raisin, black cherry, plum, a touch of hop pine, and very subtle spice notes. This one isn’t as malty in the flavor as I was anticipating. Some roasty nut flavor up front with a touch of dark fruit and malt, then a good amount of bitter piney hops. Second Oakshire brew that I have had and I am looking forward to more. No frills, but well made and priced right.

Hands down the greatest ’Holiday Ale’ I’ve ever had. Full of deep, rich leathery malt notes, and hoppage that balances the malts. Pours a dark brown with notes of amber and ruby. Not much head, but not much is needed. Finishes bitter, and begging for more.

Bottle with Carla. Pours a lightly hazy brown with off-white foam. Smells malty and surprisingly hoppy. Tastes slightly of prune with plenty of hop bitterness and a slight alcohol burn at the end. I wish it had some wintery seasonings.

Amber-to-deep-amber. cream head, which fades, coarse. Aroma is more grassy pine. Flavor is moderate clean sweetness and fairly hoppy tending towards bitterness.

Bomber. Pours a dark mahogany color with sudsy off-white head. The aroma is a blend of dark chocolate, roast malt, toffee and molasses. The flavor starts out with smoky, roasted malt and bittersweet chocolate along with some caramel, dried fig, prune and herbal hops bitterness. Overall, a unique and highly drinkable blend of 3 different styles (English Strong Ale, Brown Ale, Winter Warmer).
