3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle shared at Bruce’s in London - this one I got at that little general store not too far from Hill Farmstead. Pours black-brown with a tight, creamy beige head. The nose holds cakey dark bread, so,e juicy pine, nips of orange. Light to medium sweet flavor with dry, toasty dark bread, pine, rindy citrus, earth, cocoa. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Lightly resinous to finish with lots of chalky baking cocoa, supple roast, burnt toast, dry burnt pine. Not bad.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Black with a solid fine quilt of light tan foam. Smells of resin, pine, molasses, coffee and some cocoa. Maybe a touch of soil as well. Taste is burnt malts, bitter hops, some resin, some cat piss, a dab of weed and some hay. Medium bodied with lighter carb than anticipated, with a dry finish (pretty par for the style). This is nothing special - seems in line with the style in the PNW for the black ones.

651mL from Scion shared by Travlr. Thank you! Pours a clear cola brown with healthy tan foam. Excellent savory, roasted walnut nose with pine sap and bitter chocoalte. Taste is soapy, tangy, heavy nutty bitter, aggressive pine and roast. Palate is richer, not abrasive.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Black-bodied and decent head. Emanating a pleasant blend of medium dark roastiness that is not too rough and PNW hops with a moderate pine and citrus influence. Right on for the style. Nice flares of roast and hops that work a wonderful synergy on the palate. Balanced and tasty.
