Pours black with brown edges, big creamy tan head has great retention. Aroma of mostly malt, some citrus. Taste is more like a hoppy Porter than a CDA, the hop that is here is mostly piney and resinous, which competes with the burnt malt taste. I prefer the hop profile in a CDA to be more floral and tropical. This is not a bad beer, just not my taste. Would have been better without the roast or without the bitter hops. Nice thick texture and full, smooth carbonation.

bomber from Whole Paycheck (well, the beers prices are pretty good actually); vey dark brown and not quite black along the edges wih creamy light tan head; heavy dry roast on the nose with some light mango and orange peel hops; ashy and very bitter on first sip; cascade and maybe simcoe hops; malt profile is a little on the light side; dry, bandaidy finish; dry orange peels and light roast; decent, but I like my black IPA’s with a bit more body than this one

Dark and hoppy. This is a very nice Black IPA that could still afford to gain 2-3% more abv.

Pours dark brown, thin head. Garnet when backlit. Aroma of lucious hops- citrus and pine. Flavor is juicy floral citrus and some sweet malt nectar. Minimal coffee roast for the color. Medium body. Yummy, yummy, yummy...

Bomber and on tap. Roasted malt up front mixing with sweeter malt flavors in the background. Strong hoppy pine and mild bitterness. Nice finish. A very tasty India Dark Ale.

Bottle thanks to Adam! Pours a clear deep brown with a tan head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a nice pine note with backing toasted malts and dark grains. Flavor with some roasted malts and dark grains with a really nice pine hop note.

Dark brown with an off white head. Quite thick at first, but it dissapates rather quickly. Full bodied, nutty palate with some hop-bitterness which is rather evident throughout. A good example of black IPA and excellent with Thai food.

Pours a very dark brown, nearly black, with a foamy tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, earth, and pine. The flavor is very smooth yet full. Roasty, chocolatey malt mingles alongside mildly bitter, piny hop flavors. Lingering, semi-bitter finish. Very drinkable, but over the course of a pint the bitterness builds on the palate, masking some of the roasted malt character. A nice example of the style.

Bomber. Appearance is a crimson highlighted, extremely dark brown color with a substantial layer of tan head. The aroma blends dark chocolate and citrus with floral hops. The taste is similar with lots of roasted malt, bittersweet chocolate and espresso notes intermingled with grapefruit and herbal hops flavors. The body has some creaminess to it in addition to strong carbonation. It finishes slightly burnt, bitter and smoky. For the most part, it’s a fairly smooth and even blend of a Stout with an IPA.
