Pitch black body, swirly tan lace up top. Smell of fresh coffee jumps out, milk in the back summons thoughts of an iced latte. Body and taste are a bit thin and watery. Dark chocolate; bittersweet. Lacks the depth of the better imperial stouts.

22oz bottle thanks to ditmier Pours out black topped with a tan head. Nose is fresh roast coffee vanilla chocolate and some hop notes. Taste is as the nose with lots of coffee and a nice sweetness. A little thin but we have to remember this isn’t a imperial stout.

Bottle. Head is initially average sized, frothy, brown, mostly diminishing. Body is black (non-opaque, flashlight tested). Aroma is moderately malty (roasted grain, coffee, chocolate cookie). Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly to moderately bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation, lightly alcoholic. Simple but pleasant nose. Balance is ok but not great...the sweetness is rather overwhelmed by the bitter-acid combo. Bit watery too. All in all just barely above average for me. Definitely not a "Sweet Stout"...at least whatever batch I have ain’t, not even close.

Poured from bomber. Great thick creamy tan head. Dark brown color. Good malts, coffee flavor somewhat. Aftertaste not good.

Bomber.

Dark pour, cola highlights, modest head. Intense roasty nose, chocolate cake and coffee. Powerful espresso roast flavors, some sweetness like a Thai iced coffee, bitterness from the beans perhaps more prevalent than bitterness from the hops. I continue to be impressed by Oakshire; this drinks like a much bigger beer and while I’m not really in the mood for it right now, that’s my fault rather than that of the beer.

22oz bottle with fresh new label - This is my go to session stout. The aroma is lovely, smells of fresh roasted whole coffee beans, fresh grain, and a hint of vanilla. Smooth medium body with a roasty finish, Yum!

Appearance: black, with amber highlights and half a finger of dense, creamy medium tan head and generous rings of lace . Aroma; smells really good--smooth milk and dark chocolates, vanilla, cream, a bit of toasted bread, with roasted espresso beans. Taste: dry, roasty coffee, bittersweet chocolate, oreo cookie pie crust, crème anglaise. Finish: smooth, slightly dry, with lingering bittersweet chocolate and black coffee. Notes: Wonderful. I love coffee stouts, but hate the ones that have an overpowering acidity from all the coffee. This was perfectly balanced. Smooth, sweet, roasty, with chocolate, cream, and espresso in perfect balance. Outstanding example of the style.

Nose of mild coffee dark roasted malts a little burnt notes soft dark fruit. Great black pour creamy tan head and lace on nitro. Flavors off medium roast moderate cold espresso a little sweetness with a big dry espresso finish that lingers forever. Very smooth. Dry tangy acidity. Great use of coffee. Delicious. "Meh" (Jon, 2006).
