Nice roasty stout which is full bodied for the abv. Coffee is present but not dominating. Also noticing some cocoa, raisins, and toffee. Good stuff.

can received as extra in trade. Thank you AdamJackson! Pours hazy blackish dark brown with a frothy blackish beige head that slowly dissipates while leaving lots of trace on the glass. Smell is malty and tiny fruity with roasted malts, burnt crispbread, espresso coffee, cocoa powder, soil, hay and hint of currants and ash. Taste is bitter, malty and tiny fruity with roasted malts, crispbread, espresso coffee, soil, hay, burnt wood, ash, bitter chocolate, oatmeal cookies, red currants and burnt cookies. Mouthfeel is dry, slightly roasted astringent and light to medium bodied. Finish is bitter and tiny malty with roasted malts, burnt oatmeal cookies, espresso coffee, cocoa powder, soil, liquorice root and hay. Solid drinkable stout.

My Bottom Line:
Sweetened coffee moves into fruity chocolate in this smooth, effective Coffee Stout.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A slice of foam covers the brown-edged blackness.
-Roastiness is delicate throughout.
-The finish is balanced through roastiness and leafy hops.
-This is almost a dessert brew, to me.

From the 650 ml. bottle. Nice dark brown to black pour with a full tan head that lingers long. The aroma is of coffee and roasted dark malts with some light smoke. The body is creamy and full. The taste is very coffee-oriented, milky, and slightly bitter. It is a very nice stout.

Reviewed from notes. The appearance is a jet black body with a one and a half finger off-white/tan head with a fairly thick off-white/tan foamy lacing. The smell has some dark roasted coffee with some espresso. The taste is roasty yet also bitter coffee flavors coming through fairly strong, milk chocolate amplifying the flavor. She has a roasty coffee aftertaste and dry espresso finish. The palate is about a medium, comes across semi-sessionable, and has a carbonation which is pretty smooth yet good for the style and to me. Overall, this is a good American Stout. Good job Oakshire, I’d have this one again.

Lovely chocolately oatmeal stout that was black as night. Solid body to this brew, and a righteous mouthfeel. The oatmeal base allowed for the flavor of espresso to linger without feeling overwhelmed.
